natalia romano

When I woke up, I was in my own bed. Andreas must've carried me here. The conversation I had with him was opening, making me realise my brothers did in fact try to find me but I escaped before they could even bring me back.

A knock on my door startled me. "Sorella, it's time for dinner," Emilio called out.

"Coming."

I reluctantly got out of bed, refreshing myself before opening the door and noticing Emilio standing there.

"Are you waiting for me?" I asked.

"I want to apologise, Nat," he responded.

I tensed. "It's okay, Emi. None of it was your fault," I reassured.

"Can I have a hug?"

I looked down at my feet. "Maybe another time..." I murmured, unable to look him in the eyes.

"It's okay," his tone was filled with disappointment.

We went down the stairs quietly, silence between us. As we gathered at the dinner table, I couldn't help but notice Dante's eyes on me.

"I can't believe you're allowed back here even after what you did to Uncle Antonio," he sneered, his words cutting through me like daggers.

I bit my tongue to prevent any harsh remarks from coming out. "Can you keep quiet so we can all have a peaceful dinner?" I asked, bitterness in my tone.

"Nothing can be peaceful as long as you're here. Who knows, you might even stab Andreas next," he spat out, each syllable laced with venom.

"Enough!" Andreas voice boomed across the dinner table, his tone firm, leaving no room for arguments. "Dante, you better apologise to your sister."

"Why should I apologise to this stabber?" his eyes narrowed at me.

"Natalia did not stab him so apologise now!"

"No! I don't even know why you are defending her when you can see the scars on Uncle Antonio's hands!" Dante exclaimed.

The tension in the room thickened. Is the rest not going to defend me? I could feel the anger rising in me. Without thinking, I took the knife on the table and hurled it towards him, the blade grazing a small part of his ear before embedding into the wall.

The room fell into a heavy silence, everyone was stunned by my outburst. Dante's expression shifted from surprise to anger again. He stormed up to me before clenching my shirt by the hem.

"Let her go, Dante," Andreas intervened.

Dante reluctantly released his grip.

"The next time you say something, the knife will be going straight to your heart," I warned before walking away to the kitchen door.

I glanced over my shoulder, locking eyes with Dante before giving him a sinister grin. "You should know that Natalia Romano never misses her target."

Resting in the solace of my room after the argument with Dante was the best thing ever. I didn't notice the door creaking open, revealing Luca.
