In my room, I immediately collapse into the bed, not before locking the doors to prevent interruption.

Never would I have thought that I'd be doing such things to my own family.

Family.

A word meant to give so much comfort and warmth yet it only reminds me of the fact that I am unwanted. My family doesn't like me. Everywhere I go is a constant reminder that I'll never have a family that will love me. One that I will never live in. Funny enough, the only family that cares about me isn't even biologically related to me.

I feel resentment towards the person I had become. Perhaps if I wasn't born into this lifestyle, I would be able to enjoy all those fantasies of a loving family. And perhaps, my heart wouldn't be consumed with darkness.

I can't see myself forgiving my brothers after all the shit they have pulled.

Even if I do, it's a long journey of acceptance and self-healing to accept my own flaws and their flaws.

At the end of the day, you only have yourself against the entire world.

Just maybe if you're lucky enough you have others to back you up.

In my case, no one.

And I'd be glad for it to stay that way.

No betrayals, no expectations. Just you.

A part of me wants to go back down and apologise but another part doesn't. Why should I apologise for something that wasn't caused by me? Why should I apologise when all they have been doing while I was here was just watch everything unfold?

I watched as my bloody hands trembled, but yet the feeling of remorse or guilt was nowhere to be seen.

Somehow, the only thing I felt was excitement.

"Jace," I say as I called his number.

"What's up?" he replied casually.

"какие-либо обновления о его местонахождении?" I questioned, staring at my ceiling.

Any updates on his whereabouts?

"у нас пока нет никаких следов," he muttered.

We have no leads yet.

I hung up the call. Do I pay them to be so incompetent?

meanwhile downstairs...

"Expect her to not trust any of you anymore," I scoffed at the entire family.

"She will. She has to," Emilio pleaded, his voice filled with desperation.

"After not stopping the fight? Letting her get hit?" I scowled.

"Especially you, Andreas," I darted my gaze to him. "She trusted you the most."

Andreas just hung his head in shame, a guilty expression on his face.

"Don't act like you're so innocent, Luca," Dante sneered.

"At least I wasn't calling her names, was I? I still tried to defend her while you stood there," I shot back. "This is the reason why she hates you."

That seemed to jab at his heart as he remained silent.

"If we ever lose her again, I will never and I mean never forgive any of you," I spat out.

Something seemed to have caught Silas' attention as he gaze shifted.
