Chapter Thirty-Two: Will You Be My Mum?

As Shubman placed her back in the chair, he leaned in, his dimples showing, and touched foreheads with her, eliciting an audible "aw" from her. She leaned in further, planting a kiss on each of his cheeks.

"Daddy, Aunt Gia," a baby's voice broke the silence of the house in the morning.

They turned to see Anamika rubbing her eyes and pouting, clearly searching for Daddy and Aunt Gia upon waking up. As she walked towards them, extending her hands to be picked up, Shubman moved to lift her, but Anamika protested, saying, "No, Aunt Gia."

"Aww, darling, come here," Geetanjali said as she picked her up, hugging her tightly. The little one buried her face in Geetanjali's neck, whispering, "How are you now, Aunt Gia?"

She gently brushed Anamika's hair and whispered back, "I'm much better now, sweetheart. Thank you for asking." Anamika looked up at Geetanjali with big, innocent eyes, a mixture of love and worry evident in them.

Anamika cupped Geetanjali's face in her small hands, her eyes still filled with that innocent blend of love and worry. "Aunt Gia, I have a question. Can I ask?" she said, her voice soft and curious.

Anamika's gaze shifted momentarily to her daddy, silently seeking his permission. He blinked in response, understanding what she was about to ask, and nodded, giving her the go-ahead.

Taking a deep breath, Anamika gulped nervously before uttering her question, her voice trembling slightly with uncertainty. "Will you be my mum?" she asked, her eyes fixed on Geetanjali, searching for an answer.

Geetanjali felt her heart skip a beat at Anamika's question, her eyes brimming with emotion.

Anamika, observing Geetanjali's reaction, felt a pang of fear. Worried that she might be pressuring her, she blurted out hastily, "It's okay if only you want, no forcing."

She reached out, gently cupping Anamika's face in her hands, her voice filled with tenderness. "Oh, sweetheart," she began, her voice soft and filled with warmth, "I would be honoured to be your Mum if that's what you want."

Anamika hugged Geetanjali tightly, her happiness evident in her embrace. "Thank you, Aunt Gia," she said, her voice filled with gratitude. "I'll officially call you Mum when things settle around."

Geetanjali felt tears of joy welling up in her eyes as she hugged Anamika back, overwhelmed by the depth of love and acceptance. "I can't wait for that moment, sweetheart," she whispered, her voice filled with emotion. "But until then, just knowing that you want me as your Mum means the world to me."

Shubman chuckled warmly at the heartfelt exchange between Anamika and Geetanjali. "Alright, Mum and daughter, don't forget Dad too," he said with a playful tone, moving closer to join the embrace.

Anamika giggled happily, releasing Geetanjali for a moment to make room for her Daddy. With excitement, she reached out and pulled him into the hug, sandwiching him between herself and Geetanjali. "Of course, Dad!" she exclaimed, wrapping her arms tightly around both of them.

Shubman sighed in happiness, feeling the warmth of his family's embrace. Turning around towards Anamika, he asked with a smile, "Where do you want to go for holidays, sweetheart?"

Anamika, still hugging Geetanjali tightly, looked up with excitement and asked, "Will Aunt Gia come too?"

Shubman rolled his eyes playfully, laughing as he replied, "Of course, Aunt Gia will come too! We're a family now, aren't we?" He winked at Anamika, his heart filled with joy at the thought of spending the holidays together as a loving family.

Geetanjali smiled warmly at Anamika's excitement, feeling grateful for the love and acceptance she had found within their family. "I can't wait to go on holiday with both of you," she said, her heart brimming with happiness.

Anamika's eyes sparkled with excitement as she suggested, "How about going to our beach house in Australia?"

Shubman clasped his hands together and turned to Anamika. "How about we leave after two days?" he suggested eagerly.

Anamika's eyes widened with excitement at the prospect of leaving for their holiday. "Yes, let's go!" she exclaimed, already imagining the fun they would have at the beach house.

She remained in Geetanjali's arms as they walked towards the main door, feeling a mixture of excitement and a tinge of sadness at the thought of leaving.

As they reached the door, Anamika hugged Geetanjali tightly, feeling a rush of affection for her soon-to-be Mum. She placed a gentle kiss on Geetanjali's cheek, whispering, "I will miss you, Aunt Gia. We'll meet at the airport for Australia."

Geetanjali's heart swelled with love at Anamika's gesture. She hugged Anamika back, feeling a sense of warmth and belonging. "I'll miss you too, sweetheart," she replied softly, brushing a tear from her eye. "But I can't wait to see you at the airport. We'll have the best time together."

She wiggled out of the hug and turned around, giggling as she gave her dad and Aunt Gia some privacy. With a skip in her step, she headed off to give them space to say their goodbyes.

As Anamika disappeared around the corner, Shubman turned to Geetanjali with a tender smile. He leaned in and pressed his lips against hers, a gesture that made her smile widen. Then, in a whisper, he said something that caused a deep blush to spread across her cheeks.
