Chapter 4: Cold one

Theo trudged through the halls of Forks High School, his heart pounding with nerves as he tried to navigate the sea of unfamiliar faces. Bella's icy demeanor still lingered in his mind, a constant reminder of the tensions that simmered beneath the surface.

As he entered his first class of the day, Theo couldn't shake the feeling of apprehension that gnawed at him from within. The room was filled with students chatting animatedly amongst themselves, but Theo felt like a stranger in a foreign land.

He took a seat near the back of the classroom, trying to blend into the background as he waited for the lesson to begin. But before long, his attention was drawn to the door as a tall, brooding figure entered the room.

Theo's eyes widened in surprise as he recognized the newcomer-it was Jasper Hale, one of the Cullens that Charlie had mentioned earlier. But there was something about Jasper's presence that sent a shiver down Theo's spine, a sense of unease that he couldn't quite explain.

Jasper made his way to an empty desk near the front of the room, his gaze flickering briefly towards Theo before returning to his textbook. There was a coldness in his eyes that Theo found unsettling, a silent warning to stay away.

But Theo couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity about Jasper and the rest of the Cullens. He had heard whispers about them from Bella, tales of their otherworldly beauty and mysterious ways. And now, faced with one of them in the flesh, Theo couldn't help but wonder what secrets lay hidden beneath the surface.

As the lesson began, Theo tried to focus on the material at hand, but his mind kept drifting back to Jasper and the enigmatic aura that surrounded him. He couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Jasper than met the eye, that he held secrets far darker than anyone could imagine.

But as the class came to an end and Theo prepared to leave, he couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. He glanced over his shoulder and locked eyes with Jasper for a brief moment, and in that instant, Theo knew that his presence had not gone unnoticed.
