Theo took a deep breath and began to share his story. His heart felt heavy with the weight of memories, but he knew it was time to speak his truth.

"I was born in a small town in Washington state," Theo began, his voice tinged with sadness. "My mother was a kind and gentle soul, but my father... he was different."

His gaze drifted to the floor as he spoke, memories of his tumultuous childhood flooding back. "My father was abusive, both to me and my mother. I grew up in a constant state of fear, never knowing when the next outburst would come."

Theo's voice wavered as he continued, the pain of those memories still raw. "But my mother... she was my protector. She made me promise to hide my abilities from everyone, to keep myself safe from those who would seek to harm me."

He closed his eyes, and as he spoke, his imagination conjured up images of flames dancing before him, illustrating the horrors of that fateful night. "But everything changed one night when my father went too far. He... he attacked my mother, and in a moment of pure desperation, my abilities manifested for the first time."

Theo's voice trembled as he recounted the events of that night, the flames in his mind growing more intense with each passing moment. "I started a fire, and it consumed everything in its path, including my father. But... but my mother, she was already gravely injured. She... she died in my arms, and I couldn't save her."

As he spoke, tears welled in Theo's eyes, his heart heavy with grief and guilt. The flames in his mind raged on, a testament to the chaos and destruction that had torn his world apart.

"And now, here I am, surrounded by people who accept me for who I am," Theo said, his voice filled with a mixture of sorrow and gratitude. "I may be different, but I've learned to embrace my abilities and use them for good. And for that, I am truly grateful."
