Neteyam scrambled up from the bed, leaving a puzzled Aonung lying there with his eyes wide.
He ran to the kitchen, digging through the drawers for the pots and pans.
Rummaging through the freezer for the food.
Setting everything up on the bench, hurriedly.
The boy did this in silence, almost forgetting Aonung was even there, due to the boy just sitting there bewildered on the bed.
A question raging through his mind.
"Sorry Nung but I have to get this done before they come home" Neteyam said, feeling Aonungs eyes on him.
But Aonung didn't reply. He simply stood up and walked over to Neteyam.
Standing behind him, wrapping his arms around the boys thin but muscular waist. Leaning his chin on the boys shoulder.
"What" Neteyam giggled, as Aonung gently kissed his jawbone.
"You know how to cook?"Aonung asked, sneaking more kisses
"Of course I do" Neteyam replies, slightly shocked at Aonungs question, turning around to face him.
"Why?" Aonung asked plainly, his hands remained on Neteyams waist.
It wasn't common for men to cook, let alone teenage boys. So Aonung was naturally curious as to why his boyfriend knew how.
"Because I have to" Neteyam said with slight annoyance in his tone.
"That should be done by your mother" Aonung stated calmly.
"Well most of the time, it was me who was left to watch over my siblings. If I didn't cook they wouldn't have eaten" Neteyam said, turning back around to continue preparing the food.
"Where were your parents?" Aonung asked moving to sit by the bench.
"Helping my village" Neteyam replied "being the leaders they are" he added, as he chopped some fish.
"And they couldn't cook you dinner?" Aonung asked
"They would sometimes be gone all night, I had to look after my siblings" Neteyam replied.
"Your the child, not the parent. That is in no way your job" Aonung said, getting agitated at his boyfriend's parents.
How could they expect that much responsibility from a child, to cook and look after their children.
"I know it's not my job, but who else was going to do it, I couldn't just let my sibling starve, could I" Neteyam replied, his tone slightly agitated at his boyfriends pushing.
He knew it wasn't common for men to know how to cook, but what else could he do. His siblings were his top priority, no way was he going to let them starve. So he learnt to cook from a young age.
"You're right, I'm sorry Teyam, but that shouldn't have been put on you" Aonung said
"Trust me I know" Neteyam replied "but thank you Nung" he added, turning around and leaning over the bench to give Aonung a quick kiss on the lips.
