The next morning Neteyam woke with nerves deep in his stomach.

He knew his mother would be supportive of him, but he felt that there was a possibility she might not.

The Sullys made and finished their breakfast, going their separate ways.

The mauri was now empty, all but Neytiri and Neteyam.

Neteyam stood nervously at the bench, watching his mother get ready.

Just as Neytiri was about to leave the mauri, he mustered up the courage to talk to her.

"Mama" he questioned

"Yes sweetheart" Neytiri replied, turning to face her son.

"Can we talk" Neteyam said, his head hung low, fiddling with his fingers.

"Of course my son" Neytiri said, ushering him over to the mats.

They sat down side by side.

"What would you like to talk about?" Neytiri asked.

Neteyam thought for a moment.

Neytiri watched her son carefully from beside him.

"Mama I love someone" He finally said, after a minute of silence.

"Who is it?" She asked cautiously.

Neteyams breath hitched. He wanted to say it so bad, but was scared she would be mad.

"Do I know them?" Neytiri asked.

"Yeah" Netayam breathed.

"Son you know there is no room for judgment in my heart. You can tell me anything" She said placing a hand on her son's shoulder "nothing will change" she added knowingly.

"They aren't a girl" Netayam sighed, still fiddling with his fingers.

"You finally got a boyfriend Ma'Teyam" Neytiri said excitedly. Nudging her son with her shoulder playfully.

"You know?" Neteyam asked, his head snapped up to face his mother.

"Of course I know baby. A mother always knows. I wanted you to feel comfortable enough to tell me" She said reassuringly.

"How do you know?" He asked curiously.

"When you were younger, you couldn't keep your eyes off of the male warriors, it was like they invented the very air we breathe" Neytiri said, smiling at the memories.

"You noticed?" Neteyam giggled

"Of course I noticed, I'm your mother" Neytiri said, wrapping her arm around her son's shoulder.

"Your not upset?" Neteyam asked "that I'm not with a girl" he added.

"How could I ever be upset. Love is love, no matter who you're with. As long as they treat you right" Neytiri smiled squeezing her son tighter. "Is he treating you right?" She asked
