I look at Lucien in shock.

"You're a Lord?"

"Technically, yes." He rubs the back of his neck shyly. "Here is this realm they still loosely use a feudal system. I am the Lord here. The village below the manor falls under my reign, as well as a big chuck of the surrounding land."

I look at his with wide eyes. my shock evident.

"But how does that work? Do you rule while in the other realms?" my curiosity was bubbling inside me.

"As I said, it is a very loose feudal system. I usually leave my most trusted staff in charge when I am away. If anything, major happens I will normally return."

I sit quietly for a few minutes just processing. I have been with a Lord this entire time. It really did feel like I was in a fairytale. I look up at lucien when he grabs my hand, squeezing gently.

"I was going to tell you on our journey here, but then we had to unexpectedly had to part ways with the carriage."

"Its okay, Lucien. I understand. I am just trying to play catch up. So much has changed in such a short time."

He pulls me towards himself, placing me on his lap. I rest my head on his shoulder.

"I understand, my love. But I will be here to help you through every change. Just because I have a title doesn't change who I am. And it doesn't change what you mean to me."

I snuggle into him, giving him a kiss on his neck.

"Mmmm, Tamryn." He growled lowly under his breath pulling me into him more, his hand squeezing my waist, the other resting on my thigh.

I nuzzled his neck, slyly inhaling his scent as I continued to tease him. His hand on my thigh started to move towards my inner thigh, moving slightly higher.

"The things you do to me." he murmured as I moved my lips up to just below his ear.

His hand was now between my legs moving upward when we were interrupted by a knock on the door. I hear Lucien let out a little sound of frustration before calling out to the door. Esme enters, hiding her smile when she sees me on Lucien's lap. She silently places the tea and pastries on the desk before excusing herself. I look at Lucien and see him smirking. We look into each other's eyes for a few seconds before both of us burst into laughter. He pours us each a cup of tea before turning to me.

"James will be by later this evening to discuss what progress he has made. We should also take this opportunity to tell him about those hunting you. he may be able to use his resources to find out who it is and why they are desperate to get you."

"I finally get to meet him." I smile, but then a frown hits my face. "But I won't be able to understand what you two are talking about."

"It is okay, love. I have arranged for a potion from the apothecary for you. once you have it any and all languages will be open to you."

I look at him in shock. "Well, that is certainly handy."

Lucien chuckles. "Once it arrives, I will have in mixed into a tea for you to hide the taste. It is unfortunately not pleasant."

"Wait, you have had this potion yourself?" I ask amazed that even he would need it.

"Yes, a long time ago. I doubt it improved any."

The messenger came just after lunch with the potion. Lucien and I made our way to the kitchen with it. I was excited to see Mary there safe and sound. I ran to her and hugged her tightly.
