Rick opened the door and the familiar stench of decay flooded the room.

"How's your stomach feeling darlin'?" Hershel asked trying to distract me as they cleared the basement.

"It kills, but ill survive. hopefully." I reply. He gives me a smile and sets his crutches down and sits.

My stomach feels like a bomb blows up every time I inhale. It kills.

Then as Hershel and I were in mid conversation we hear a blood curdling scream, from the basement.

I jump to my feet and run to the door, even though the movement absolutely killed my stomach I had to make sure Carl was alright.

I look downstairs and see Jesse with a gash in her neck. I fumble back. breathless, unable to speak.

Hershel hobbles over to see Jesse and he looks to the ground.

Rick and Maggie carry Jesse up the stairs and set we on the couch.

She was crying and gasping for air.

I cover my mouth. Even though her and Carl kissed, she was a decent friend. A good friend to say the least.

"I'm sorry Jesse" I grab onto her hand and have it a kiss, and a small smile.

"What'd you want to do?" Rick asked her.

"Leave me here... I don't want to burden one of you with shooting me" she wants to turn?

Maggie and Jesse were pretty close. So Maggie wasn't taking this easy.

We nod and we bring her outside.

We tie her to a tree and we say out goodbyes.

Carl and Maggie go into the basement to collect the supplies. The letter was right, there was over 200 boxes of ammo and 150 cans of food and a few bags of chips.

We ate like champs tonight.

Carl came and sat beside me handing me a can of corn.

"I'm sorry about Jesse" I say to him.

"I'm just glad it wasn't you" he smiled.

Hershel approached me and handed me a gigantic pill.

"Take this, it'll help incase of infection" he said.

"Is it chewable?" I laugh taking it into my hands.

"Yes" he nodded.

I take the 'pill' and put it into my mouth and start to chew. It taste like chalk...

Carl laughed from the expression on my face.

"It's not funny Carl!" I say playfully punching his shoulder.

"I know, I had to take that when I was shot too" He smirked.

"You were shot?" I ask.

"About a year after the outbreak" he nodded.

"A hunter shot a deer, went straight through it and hit me" He added.

I hug him and put my head on his shoulder. "We can do this" I say.

"We can beat this world" I smile.

He gives me a kiss on the cheek before we both fall asleep.
