Chapter 16- What is this place?

We all smile when we see Garrett.

"C'mon in we don't bite" he smiled walking back into the courtyard I presume.

"Mary fix these survivors a play would ya?" he asked a women In her early 60's.

She and another man hand out plates of what I can only assume us jerky.

As I was about to take a bite I notice something in the mans pocket.

I shake Ricks arms and point to the pocket. He saw it too, Hershel's pocket watch; that he gave to Glenn.

Rick dropped the plate and put the man in a head lock, putting a gun to his head.

"Where are our people?!" He shouts. Carl takes me behind him.

"Rick calm down! what is it you want?" Garrett asked.

"This watch, it belonged to my group, my family! where are they?" He asked.

"Dad look!" Carl said pointing to the women in Glenn's riot gear.

And a man in Daryl's poncho.

This was sick! what have they done to our people?!

"Rick you don't want to do this" Garrett said pointing to a sniper on the rooftop, pointing at Rick.

Rick turns the mans body as the sniper took a shot and it hit the man, in the gut.

"Lets go!" Rick shouted. Maggie and I stayed back with Hershel.

"Carl just go!" I shout as he stops trying to help me.

"Lauren I'm not leaving you!" He says.

"Carl please" he looks to the ground then to me.

"I love you Lauren Blake." He says before running off.

Garrett and this other man come and take Maggie, Hershel and I.

They take Maggie and Hershel in another direction. Garrett took me to the rooftops.

When I look down I see Rick, Carl and Judy in the middle of the courtyard stuck.

Garrett and I approach the ledge and he has a gun to my head.

"Lauren!" I heard Carl scream.

"Rick, you've made your choice now you can co- operate and get in the train car, or we can put bullets in your families skulls.

"GET OUT OF HERE" I shout.

Then they bring Maggie and Hershel up to the rooftops as well.

Ricks facial expression changed dramatically.

"You let them go!" I heard Rick shout.

"Get in the car Rick" Garrett says through the mega phone.

They resist. I sigh knowing one of the three of us on the rooftop weren't making it out alive.

"Rick! I'm giving you one last chance!" Garrett says aiming is gun on Hershel.

"No!NOO! don't hurt him! please!" I begged.

"Shut up" Was all he said.

"RICK DO WHAT YOUR TOLD!" I shout down to them.

Rick looks at me in defeat and walks over to the train car. I hear a gun shot.

I look over and Hershel was limp on the ground.

"HERSHEL!" I shout. Rick and Carl look up to see them pushing His corpse off the roof top.

Maggie was hysterical. She was losing it.

"C'mon you two, your in the train car too." Garrett said as they pull us away.

As we are walking to the train car I see people kneeled down over a Metal trough. Then a man with a bat and machete hit them over the head, them slit there throats.

I was gonna be sick.

The jerky was human.

These people are cannibals.

As we approach the train car I was literally sick, I threw up all over the ground.

"In you go" he says opening the door
both Maggie and I made our way in.

Carl ran up to me and gave me the biggest hug. They killed Hershel. They're going to kill us. What is this place?

Then there was some people that I thought I would never see again.

Daryl, Glenn, tyreese, Sasha and four people I've never seen before.

Maggie runs into Glenn's arms and cries.

"They killed Hershel" I say slowly sliding down a wall.

"They're going to kill us." Maggie stated.

"Me and Lauren saw." she added.

"They're gonna feel pretty stupid" rick says.

"Why?" Daryl asks.

"They're screwing with the wrong people" Rick said having this evil look in his eyes.

We all nod.

Then it occurred to me, Maggie lost her father today.

I got up and approached her and Glenn.

And I squeezed her, she just hugged back and cried.

"I'm so sorry Maggie" I say looking down.

"You didnt pull the trigger" she said.

"We are going to take them down" Glenn says rubbing her arm. I nod.
