Chapter 28- This Cant be Happening.

Carl and I walk our way back to the house when I look over to see Enid, hopping the fence.

"Carl, look." I nudge and point in the direction.

"Stay here. I don't want you getting hurt." He says placing a light kiss on my lips. I nod and he runs off after Enid.

I watch as Carl hops over the fence as well.

I quickly walk back to the house and run to Carl and I's room.

I sat on our bed and lay down, hoping Carl is alright.

20 Minutes Later.

Carl runs threw our door and pulls me in a hug.

"Are you alright?" I ask concerned.

"Of course. I lost Enid so I came back." I smiled and hugged him tighter

"You look pale." i state looking at his white face.

"I-I'm probably just tired." he insists.

"Carl? I'm gonna ask you again. Are you okay?" I asked scared.

He sighs and rolls up his shirt to reveal a scratch on his stomach.

"Please tell me that's from a rock." I tear up.

"I'm- I'm so so sorry Laur." he looks to the ground.

"This can't be happening! not to you! Carl please tell me your joking." I cry.

"I wish I was." He says before he falls back on the bed unconscious.

"Rick! someone help!" I call as I run to Carl's side.

"What's wrong?!" Maggie, Rick and Glenn barge in.

"Carl's scratched." I cry holding his hand.

"Oh no no no no." Rick cries collapsing on his knees.

Maggie rushes to our side and feels his head.

"He's burning up." She states.

"Carl baby please wake up." I cry into his chest.

2 hours later.

Carl starts coughing and wakes up.

"Carl?!" I say as I run to his side and grab ahold of his hand.

"Lauren?" he whispers weakly.

"I'm so sorry you shouldn't have gone over, I shouldn't have let you. I feel so guilty." I cry.

"This isn't your fault. It's mine. I wasn't paying attention and it snuck up on me." He says tearing up.

"Please don't leave me, alone." I plead.

"You know I'm gonna go, but Your Not Alone.you have everyone else." He says.

"When I'm gone, promise me you'll keep living, dont give up on life because of me. You'll find someone great and who will love you as much as I do. Lauren Winter Blake I love you so much, and I'm sorry I did this to you." he says quietly.

"I promise. ill keep going, when your gone. Carl grimes I love you with all my heart." I cry out.

Carl nods.

"Put me down, I want you to do it." Carl says.

I open my eyes wide and looked scared lay at him.

"Okay." I whisper.

1 hours later.

Everyone came in to say there goodbyes to Carl.

It was my turn.

I plant a light kiss on his lips.

"I love you Carl. Ill miss you so much." I say as I cry.

"Ill miss you too." He smiles weakly.

I was his last goodbye

"Lauren you sure you want to do this?" Rick asks, he's broken.

"I have to do this for Carl." I say.

I pull out my gun and aim it at cCarl.

He looks up at me with his crystal blue eyes and he nods.

"I love you." I say and with that I pull the trigger letting a bullet escape the chamber into Carl's head.

Carl Grimes is gone.

The love of my life is gone.

I'm totally alone.

I drop the gun and curl up in a ball, pinching my skin hoping this was a dream, it wasn't working!! why wasn't I waking up?!

I cry and cry. Maggie and the others try to talk me into coming downstairs but I don't want to leave Carl, even though he's gone.

I'm gone too.

I just lost the last shred of humanity I had left.
