Your Not Alone

Chapter 23- Good Man.

I woke up in Carl's arms, with his light snoring in filling the air.

I sneakily crawl out of bed and hop in the shower.

Then after my shower I brush threw my naughty blonde hair and I blow dry it. Then doing a messy side braid. Witch for a 'messy' braid takes alot if work.

I exit the bathroom with a towel surrounding my body. And open up the closet, I could go casual with shorts and a plaid shirt or go formal, a black mini dress.

I quickly look outside the window to see what everyone else is wearing to the funeral. They're going casual.

So I go back to the closet and throw on a pair of beige short shorts from American Eagle and a White loose tank top.

I turn around to bump into Carl.

"Why didnt you wake me?" he asks.

"Why would I? I was getting ready" I smile.

He smiles and plants a light kiss on my forehead and enters the bathroom.

I make my way downstairs.

Daryl, Rick and carol were in the kitchen.

"Morning Lauren" Carol greets.

I smiles and wave as I open the fridge and grab an apple.

"You know what yer' gonna say today?" Daryl asks.

"No idea. last funeral I was at was my mothers. And I could barely say a word." I respond.

"You'll do great." Maggie says entering the kitchen with Judy on her hip.

Ever since Hershel she has been moody, happy one minute and then mean and aggressive the next.

We need to find Beth. For Maggie's sake, that's all she has hope for.

I finished my apple and threw it out and made my way to the 'church'.

I enter and it was breath taking. they made a stain glass window and crosses. There was a coffin in the front of the church.

I slowly walk to the front and look.

It was Aiden all eaten up, but he wasn't bloody at all. They must've cleaned him up.

"Glad you could come" Deanna says as she stands by my side.

"Least I could do." I reply.

"Deanna I really am sorry about what happened to your son." I say looking down on Aiden.

"He isn't suffering anymore. You tried all you could to save him." She put her arm around my shoulder.

After an hour everyone started flooding the church. Paying there respects to Reg and Deanna and then quickly taking a seat.

I sat next to Carl and Ron (some kid my age)

Deanna started talking about The Lord and how she'll miss her son. then she called me up.

I let a sigh out (because I was nervous) and made my way up to the podium.

"Thank you all for being here for the memorial of Aiden Michael Monroe. Now some of you might've known Aiden for quite sometime and others just met him, but I only just met the guy and he was a great. Reg and Deanna you raised a wonderful man. Now in aidens last moments he was a hero. He knew he didn't stand a chance, and he insisted that we leave him. Everyone was very upset of the idea except Evan, he was already out the door. Aiden is my hero. In this world now their aren't to many heroes. Im proud to have known him. I know this memorial is for Aiden but my close friend Noah died that day too. Not because it was an accident like Aiden but it was murder, Evan murdered a 15 year old boy to save his ass. Im gonna miss Noah everyday. You all may not have known him but he was a great guy, he always took care of others before himself. Always. His last words to me and Glenn were "dont let go" he didnt mean for me and Glenn not to let go if his hand, but for us not to let go of our humanity. I'm tryin real hard to hold on to that little bit I have left, but people now are makin it real hard. Two great men died that day and I'm sad to see them go." I look down and walk off the stage. And sit back down next to Carl and Ron.

Deanna went back up and she finished the ceremony and everyone left the church.

I was walking home when someone pulled me in between houses. it was Evan.

"Your gonna pay!" he shouts as he slaps me across the face. I fall down then he started pounding my face with his fist.

I tried to fight back but it was no use. I passed out to him beating me. that's all I can remember.
