Forgiveness through Love and Faith

13 END OF THE INVESTIGATION

 The following morning the phone rang it was the investigational committee that wanted to visit with Enrique Molers to hear what happened and what he could have done differently while up in the derrick tower and hooking up the pipe at the time the wind gust came through.

We called Mr. Molers and notified him that the investigation team would be there to talk with him about what happened and for him to be as truthful as he has been with us.

Mr. Dorenson appeared in the hospital room of Enrique Molers "What exactly happened up in the derrick tower when you were connecting the pipe to the turn buckle that lifts and places it over to be connected to the other pipes?"

Enrique Molers reply "this wind just blew straight down at the time I happened to have just pulled the pipe up and was beginning to connect it when I lost all grip and my harness was hung up on the turn buckle that was to continue to lift the pip in place so I had to cut it in order to save myself no matter what it cost me even if it cost me my job."

"Why did you cut the harness instead of just releasing the turnbuckle?" Mr Dorenson asked.

"It had hold of the pipe and I was caught up on the outside of the turnbuckle is why I did what I did. This was not any other options that I could have done or I would have done it. I would have to see this part of the turnbuckle to see if there are other ways around it to get free." was the reply that Enrique Molers had given to Mr. Dorenson.

Mr. Dorenson "this will give us what we need to conclude the final report of your accident. So please stay safe."

They said their goodbyes.

Upon arrival to the office and with the rest of the team of investigator for the rig safety committee came the final conclusion that it was a matter of his safety in the derrick Mr. Molers did what he thought was best for his safety, looking into the other side it was just a freak of nature that caused this decision as the equipment was still operational at this time and decisions had to be made. No one was at fault and yes an accident did happen.

 The board members decided to allow for this decision to stand for a learning curve in the corporation and in the field to show others that this will also be considered as the best choice of being safe and allow Mr. Molers to be an instructor with the help of the other derrick instructor to collaborate together for safety.

This was presented to Mr. Molers over the phone to which he was in agreement with and would be willing if the other party was willing to do the same. To his amazement he also was present on speaker phone to say yes as well which would bring about the best of how each of them could save a life when necessary.
