🎶 Sad Song (feat. Elena Coats) — We The Kings, Elena Coats 🎶My fingers tapped nervously on my knee as the plane from Santiago started its landing onto Tenerife. My nervousness was going through the roof about what was going to happen this week - in which state of mind would I leave? Since no one knew about our secret romantic escape, I had to take all my luggage from Pedri's with me or his parents would have noticed something off.
And there I was now, at the baggage claim at Tenerife North, once again, waiting for my red suitcase to appear.
After twenty minutes, I was finally making my way outside and quickly walked to the indicated place where Pedri said he would be waiting for me. When I saw the black SUV I took one last deep breath. He already got out when he saw me approaching and I smiled.
"Hey" I said when I was finally standing in front of him.
"Hi" he replied and put his right hand on my cheek, slowly caressing it. But the moment ended too soon, and he quickly took my suitcase to load it into the trunk while I sat down on the passenger seat."How are you feeling?" he asked when he sat back down on the driver's seat and fired up the engine.
"Thanks for asking" I chuckled. "Nervous, excited... happy" I replied. "And you?" I asked.
"Pretty much the same, probably more nervous than you though" he answered, but sent me a bright smile.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"Booked a villa in the south, private beach and an own pool. We have a cook and someone who cleans up, all signed NDAs, I've taken care of everything" he replied and my jaw dropped. I had never taken such a luxurious holiday.
"Wow" I just mumbled. He handed me the AUX cord and I started playing some of my favourite songs at the moment as we drove down the coastal road. I opened up my window and leaned out a bit, enjoying the first time in years that I was doing something solely for myself. Marriage and parenthood meant that you were never alone anymore, and while that was a good thing all in all, it made you forget about who you were all alone as a person. Pedri brought that out in me, he didn't fail to underline and praise my personal attitudes and made me feel like more than just a mum to two girls, with him, I was Isa all on my own, if that even made sense.
We arrived at the villa and to say that is was stunning, was an understatement. Pedri unloaded our suitcases and I followed him inside.
"What did you tell your parents?" I asked curiously as we wandered into the huge living area.
"Single boys trip with Ferran, he's also the only one who knows because I need him as my cover." he replied and I nodded. "What did you tell your sister?" he asked.
"That I booked myself a spa retreat for the week" I chuckled. We went upstairs and Pedri hesitated before turning to me.
"Do you want an own bedroom?" he asked.
"Do you want me to have an own bedroom?" I asked back and he blushed a bit.
"No... But I'll respect whate-" he started before I cut him off.
"Then we can share. But you'll have to be tidy! I don't want your stinky socks and boxers laying around on the floor!" I told him and he just grinned.
"Oh, will there be a reason for my boxers to lay around on the floor?" he teased me and when he saw my expression, he started running.
"Oh, you wait!" I shouted and he ran downstairs, through the living room and outside, to jump into the pool.
