Two weeks have passed since Emma was saved from the darkness and became the Savior again. She doesn't really talk about it – she'd rather forget it, but everybody knows that's impossible. She doesn't talk about anything else either. She's much quiter and more distant, only speaking when she must. Most people think this state is going to fade, she just needs time, and maybe, they are right.

Killian is the first who's had enough of this. Ever since they got her back, she's been shutting him out completely. Surely, they talk about Henry and work, but whenever he tries to ask her something serious, she ignores it, cuts him off with something like 'I gotta go' or 'I'll be back in a minute.' He understands that being the Dark One has had a great influence on her, but avoiding the topic isn't the solution. They've barely acted like a couple lately. It's started to get really annoying, so one morning, when she doesn't expect to see him, he shows up in their loft's door.

„Hey, Killian." Mary Margaret greets her with a smile, and opens the door to let him in. „Emma will be ready in a few minutes. Stay for breakfast!"

„Good morning. Actually, I just wanted to talk to her." He answers with a smile, and gets inside. He sees Henry sitting on the sofa and watching TV, so he murmurs something like 'morning, lad'.

„Is everything okay? We haven't really seen you for a while." Mary Margaret asks after a minute and moves to set the table for breakfast.

„Yeah, I know, that's what I want to talk to Emma about." He sighs, and Emma's mother knows how hard this is for him. She's been shutting them out too, and she isn't the same with Henry either.

„Oh, that's a really good idea. David and I tried to, but we failed."

Suddenly, a sleepy Emma appears on the top of the stairs, brushing her hair. As soon as she notices them, she greets them, but not as warmly as before.

„Good morning, mom. And Killian. What are you doing here?" She asks with confusion in her voice, but doesn't go there to give him a kiss.

That's another thing which has changed. They haven't holden hands or kissed or hugged each other since the incident happened. Killian misses her, although he sees her and talks to her every day.

„I was hoping we could talk. Privately." He scratches behind his ear, and Emma's expression immediately changes.

„Look, I don't wanna talk." She's nervous and a little angry, so she turns around and begins to walk to the bathroom.

Killian catches her wrist right in time, and makes her look in his eyes. „I know, and I've endured it for two weeks, but that's enough. Look, Swan, if something's changed between us, if you want me to stay away, just tell me." He says softly, without any anger or annoyance.

„No, I... Okay, let's go for a walk." She grabs her jacket, and leaves the loft as fast as she can, followed by Killian.

David steps out of Neal's room, and looks at the open door, confused.

„What was that about?" He asks after closing it and pressing a small kiss to her wife's lips.

„Honestly, I have no idea. Emma's walls are up again, and this hurts Hook."

David shakes his head, and sits down next to Henry, who's been trying not to be a part of the converstation. „I hate to say this, but he has every right to be upset."

Emma and Killian walk to the docks quietly, none of them saying a word. He leads her to his ship, knowing that's the only place they can really be alone. Emma sits down on his bed in the captain's quarters, and lets out a sigh.

„Okay, what do you want to talk about?" She asks and tries to hide the vulnerability in her eyes.

He takes a deep breath. „Do you want to end things between us?" He answers with a quick question.

„What?" Emma exclaims, because she totally hasn't expected him to ask about their relationship. She's thought he's wanted to talk about the darkness which has left her recently.

That is when she realizes how horrible she has been acting since she came back. She has been distant for a reason, but what she's done was more than that – she's pushed him away, just like she did in Neverland.

„You don't even let me touch you since you're back. I want to know what's changed." He tells her simply, but there's pain in his eyes, because she's everything for him – light, hope, love -, and he doesn't want to lose her.

„God, no. I still want to be with you." She grabs his hand to reassure him and looks straight in his eyes. He's relieved, but he still has doubts.

„Are you sure? Because it hasn't seemed like it." He whispers, and the answer is a definite nod. He waits for a second, forming the words he is meaning to say. „I know that you refuse to talk about what happened while you were the Dark One, but I need to know if you will be okay."

He waits for her reaction. She looks away, then closes her eyes, but a few moments later she lifts her gaze, opens her mouth and starts to talk.

„I will, I just... need time to figure things out. I'm going to tell you when I'm ready. But until then... can we just move on?"

This was the most honest thing she's said in that two weeks, and he just smiles at her widely, because everything is going to be alright. He pulls her closer for a hug, and he couldn't be happier.

„Okay. Moving on is what we'll do." There is only one thing he wants to know, and this question could hurt her as much as the previous one could have. But her walls are down again, so he takes a chance. „Swan? Did you mean it?"

„Mean what?" She pulls away, hands resting on his legs.

„That you loved me." A smile appears on her face, and he's relieved, again.

„Of course I meant it. I haven't been acting like that, but I do love you." She touches his face and looks down to his lips.

„And I love you." Kiss. „More" Kiss. „Than" Kiss. „Anything." Kiss. She chukles, and presses one more long, lingering kiss on his lips. God, she's missed him.

They both know that the way to complete happiness is not going to be easy, but they are ready to deal with whatever they have to. Just like they have always done: together.
