"There was a knock on the window?" I shivered thinking about who it could be. Isadora nodded quickly.
"Let's see who it was." She got up off the bed and walked downstairs. I followed.
"Is this kind of a bad idea?" I asked, walking next to Isadora.
"Not if we're safe." She walked to the door. Her hand turned the handle. The door opened to revel a familiar face running to a nearby car.
"Are you Count-" He froze and looked embarrassed.
"Y-n-y-n-y-no." He said, walking to the door then breaking a car window and taking out a camera. He then ran away. I swear I saw him mouth 'I'll get you'. Klaus was stumbling down the stairs trying to find out what the racket was about.
"Are you okay?" He asked, putting his glasses on. I nodded. "Okay..." He walked to where the kitchen was to 'help' make breakfast. I came over to cook too, but Sunny basically did it all. She made pancakes for us and put them on the table.
"I was going fix breakfast but oh my Sunny!" Kit said as she sat at the table. Sunny smiled. I devoured it quickly while everyone else took their time.
"Are you in a rush?" Duncan asked. He hadn't even eaten his second pancake by the time I was done with three.
"No." I answered, which was not wrong, but I don't know if it's right. I heard a jangle coming from behind me, which was a wall lined with windows. I looked and saw and open window with a spyglass hanging from a string on the windowsill. "Did you open that window?" I asked. Kit nodded but stopped when she saw which window was open. She started shaking her head. Everyone looked to the window. Isadora gasped.
"Sherlock." Sunny said and gasped. Which meant "Let's investigate this interesting case this instant". I nodded. The door clicked and swung open.
"Hello, hello- Oh shoot wrong house!" Olaf said and ran out.
"What?" Isadora asked.
"Again." I said and shook my head. Duncan and Klaus were very confused, so I explained it to them. Kit was unfazed.
"That Olaf..." Kit said, taking a sip of tea that was sharp as a two-edged sword and bitter as wormwood, just how she liked. Kit was unsurprised by all of this. A few minutes later, we rode bikes through the city.
"I'm going faster than you, Isadora!" Klaus said while he passed Isadora, who was slowly riding past a building with a poem on the side.
"Dang it!" She used all her energy to pass Klaus again. Kit was just coasting in the back, and I was in front of her. Quigley and Duncan were neck and neck in the front. Sunny was in the front basket of Kit's bike. I passed the bookstore, but it was burning to the ground. Fire in the city was like writing "Olaf was here" except worse.
"Kit!" I said, stopping my bike and pointing to the burning bookstore. The red, yellow, and orange flames engulfed the bookstore. The books were probably burning with the store which Klaus would hate to see. Klaus was still very ahead.
"Olaf..." Kit said, "Take Sunny." She handed Sunny to me and ran to find Olaf. The bookstore looked like the fire had just started within its walls. The bricks toppled down. I swallowed. Where is Klaus and everyone else though? I thought. But I was answered by hearing Klaus run over, Isadora bike over, and Duncan and Quigley do cartwheels over. (They're really bad at them.)
"Oh my-" Klaus gasped. "Whoever did this needs jail time!"
"You're right. They just can't catch him, sadly." I said, putting my bike against a nearby tree.
"Wait, how do you know it's a 'he'?" Isadora asked."It's obviously Olaf, Isadora!" I turned around to Isadora.
"Sheesh, I get it." Isadora replied.
