James regained consciousness and immediately felt a sharp and intense pain in his leg. He looked down and saw a giant piece of metal impaling his leg, piercing deep into the flesh and bone. The pain was excruciating, and he let out a sharp yell as he tried to pull himself away from the crash site.
He put his back against a nearby wall and looked around, searching for any sign of a survivor. He spotted Jill lying flat on her back, her body motionless as she lay unconscious from the explosion. She had a nasty cut on her head, and James felt a sense of panic setting in as he realized that she could be seriously injured or even dead.
Quickly, he pulled out the piece of metal from his leg, despite the immense pain it caused him. Once he managed to pull it out, he fell down to the floor in pain and crawled over to Jill. He checked her body for any signs of life, hoping that she was still breathing.
Thankfully, Jill had a pulse. James scrambled to grab a nearby radio and desperately tried to reach anyone for help. "Carlos! Are you there? Anyone?" But nobody answered. "Carlos! Carlos, can you hear me?!" Again, nothing. James felt a wave of panic and fear wash over him now that he was all alone, injured, and unable to reach anyone else for help.
"Shit!" James shouted, not knowing what to do at this point. One thing was for sure, he was going to do everything he could to get Jill out of danger. She was not going to die out here, not on his watch.
He attempted to pick Jill up, but he instantly fell to one knee due to the intense pain in his leg. The pain was unbearable, but he had to push through it for her sake. He managed to carry her out of the subway and ended up in some park next to a lake. He took out his radio again in an attempt to reach somebody.
"Carlos! Can you hear me?"
There was a few moments of silence before James heard a response. "I hear you, what's up?"
"That thing somehow managed to get on the train and it killed everyone."
"WHAT?!" Carlos exclaimed in shock.
"Jill is still breathing but she's hanging on by a thread. I need your help, man."
"Where are you right now?" Carlos asked.
"I think I'm at some park. There's a bridge that goes over a lake."
"Ok, I know where you are. There's a hospital nearby. Can you get to it?"
"I don't know, man, I'm really hurt."
"Just try, okay? I'm on my way now."
"Okay, I'll try," James said as he put the radio down.
He picked Jill back up once more and noticed that she was covered in blood and was burning up with fever. He examined her body, trying to assess the extent of her injuries. The sight of her covered in bloody wounds and feverish body sent a wave of panic through him. He needed to get her help quickly before it was too late.
James began to limp his way towards the hospital, but had barely taken a few steps when he heard a terrifying scream coming from nearby. "STARS!" He immediately froze and looked around, his adrenaline rushing now.
To his horror, he saw nemesis emerge from a nearby burning building, the fire still raging around the structure.
But this time, nemesis was much, much bigger.James felt his blood run cold as he saw him standing there in front of him, He didn't have time to think, he needed to get himself and Jill to safety before nemesis attacked.
He crouched behind a nearby police car, carefully setting Jill in the backseat and keeping an eye on her. He looked around frantically for any weapons, and to his shock, he found a grenade launcher sitting in the passenger seat. "Who the hell just casually carries around a grenade launcher?" he thought to himself, unable to believe his luck.
He grabbed it and saw it was fully loaded. "Well, I'll be damned," James said quietly.
James stepped out into the open and held up the grenade launcher, his heart pumping with adrenaline as he pointed it at his nemesis. "Hey, asshole!" he screamed, full of anger and determination. Nemesis turned its attention to him at the sound of his voice and was hit in the face by a grenade.
Nemesis staggered back a bit, seemingly disoriented from the grenade. James took advantage of this and quickly launched another one right into its face. The grenade exploded in Nemesis' face, causing it to stumble and falter, still caught off guard by the sudden attack. "How's that feel, huh?" James taunted, feeling a surge of satisfaction at inflicting such damage to the creature.
Nemesis jumped up, running in a furious circle on top of nearby buildings. James quickly checked his ammo and saw that he had a mine round! Thinking quickly, he fired the round at one of the walls, just in time as Nemesis ran right into it. An explosion erupted, sending fragments of the building flying in all directions as Nemesis fell to the ground.
James walked up to Nemesis, who was still down on the ground. It didn't appear to be moving, which gave him hope that it was finally dead. Just to be sure, though, James decided to fire one more grenade at Nemesis to really make sure that it isn't coming back. "Now, please stay dead!"
