~PAINS.  

"Imogen! Imogen!" I heard a voice call from the other side of the house I turned and saw Seraphina standing I hate it when people call me that

"I'm here" I said walking over to her

"Go get me some snacks from the store across the street" she demanded tossing me a wad of cash I sighed knowing there was no point in arguing I grabbed my shoes and hurried out the door

I wandered around not really sure where to go I was trying to figure out where the store was when I heard a group of men catcalling me

"Hey beautiful!" one of them yelled

I cringed but I didn't want to be rude so I went over to them

"What's up?" he said stared at me their eyes roaming up and down my body I started to feel uncomfortable like a piece of meat on display

"I need to go" I said turning to leave

But one of the men stepped in front of me blocking my path

"Hey, where are you going? Why don't you hang out with us for a while?" As he spoke he reached out and grabbed my arm his grip tight and insistent

I tried to pull away but he held on his touch making my skin crawl

"Let go of me" I yelled struggling to break free But he was stronger than me and I couldn't get away

The men forced me to sit on the ground and they began to touch me their hands rough and insistent

I struggled and screamed but no one came to help"Mum, please help me"

I was completely alone trapped and helpless The men laughed as they continued to violate me their hands moving over my body I was on the verge of giving up when I heard a voice clear and strong

"How dare you!" it cried I opened my eyes and there standing in front of me was a tall handsome man

The men stopped what they were doing and scrambled to their feet, running away like cowards

The man turned to me "Are you okay?" he asked

"I am fine " I said

"Why were you walking alone? It's not safe around here."

I took a deep breath and explained"I'm new to this area I was asked to get something from the store"

"I'll walk you to the store I don't want those men coming back."

I bought what I had been asked to get and then turned to the man. "Thank you so much I really appreciate your help My name is Imogen"

"It's my pleasure Imogen My name is Logan."

"Thank you again I have to go"

He smiled and nodded"It was my pleasure Imogen Stay safe" With that I turned and started to walk away

"You're an hour late" Seraphina said as soon as I walked through the door

"I... I almost got... rape"

"You almost got rape It's not my business Just give me my snack and get out of my sight"

I felt numb as I handed her the snack, my eyes filling with tears

Astrid saw my face and scoffed. "I wish they raped you"

I walked into my room and shut the door behind me I replayed the words over and over in my head each time feeling more and more angry I told them I almost got raped, and they just laughed

In the middle of the night I heard a knock on my door I opened it to find Hugo my aunt's husband, standing there

"What are you doing here?"

He pushed past me, entering my room and closing the door behind him

"I'll take care of you,"

"What are you talking about?"

"I'll save you from your aunt's bullying," he said, taking a step closer"All you have to do is... satisfy my needs."

He reached out and touched me and I recoiled pushing him away

"Get out!" I yelled

"You're impossible," he said and then he did something I'll never forget He pushed me to the bed and I struggled, but he was too strong

He started tearing at my clothes, and I screamed my heart pounding. "No one will hear you," he hissed in my ear

I felt his hands on me his body pressing against mine. I couldn't move I couldn't breathe I could feel him forcing himself on me and I knew there was nothing I could do to stop him I felt so helpless

As I lay there I felt numb and cold I was shaking, and I couldn't stop the tears from coming I was in shock and I couldn't comprehend what had just happened

I looked up to see him leaving"If you tell your aunt about this," he said turning to look at me"I'll kill you" Then he left

I stayed in bed too exhausted to even cry I noticed the blood stains on the sheets I sat on the floor crying

'Why is my life like this?' I wondered tears streaming down my face........
