I stood in the kitchen I couldn't stop thinking about what Alina had said What did she mean? I looked out the window and saw her playing in the garden looking as carefree and normal as ever She didn't seem to be worried about anything
I was watching Alina through the window when I heard Astrid's voice behind me
"Hey, you!" she said
I turned to her "yes"
"Go get my phone from my room"
"I'm busy Can you please give me a second?"
The blow was hard and I felt a sharp pain in my head "What the...?" I said rubbing my head
"Are you crazy? Go get my phone right now you idiot" she yelled
I ran to her room and got her phone then rushed back to the kitchen I handed it to her and she smirked before walking out of the kitchen
"Imogen won't you serve the food?" I heard Auntie's voice call from the dining room
I hurried to the dining room and placed the food on the table I heard Seraphina say"I don't think I can eat this monster food!" She hissed
I turned to leave but Astrid stopped me "Wait Let me taste the food first" I stood there watching as she took a bite
Her face contorted, and she screamed "Mum, this girl is going to kill everyone This food is so salty and full of pepper"
Aunty Elodie taste the food herself and she spat it out
"Imogen, taste this food" Aunty said I took a bite and immediately spat it out
"I don't know how to cook but I didn't put that much salt and pepper in the food"
"Then who did? You must have done this on purpose You want to kill me and my family just like you killed yours, right?"
"Mom, I think it's okay," Alina said
"Shut your mouth you little brat" Aunt Elodie screamed at Alina
"I don't know why you always defend this monster!" Seraphina said
Elodie took a plate and dumped the food on me It was scalding hot and I screamed in pain
"It's hot!" I shouted trying to get away from her But she wouldn't let me go
"If you think you can kill me I'll kill you first" she yelled slapping me again and pushing me to the floor
I was terrified but I knew I had to get away from her I tried to crawl away but she grabbed me by the hair and dragged me back
She hit me again and this time, she kicked me in the stomach I screamed and started crying but she just kept hitting me Then she bent down and looked me in the eye
"You will finish this food Everything I'm clear?"
I nodded She got up and walked out of the dining room Hugo looked at me his eyes filled with pity and then he too walked away
"You will finish everything, okay?" Astrid said then threw an apple at me It hit me on the head and I saw stars
I looked at Astrid I remembered how she had smirked when enter the kitchen earlier I realized then that she must have done something to it
I tried to say something, but then I remembered my mom's words I started crying
"Hey it's okay" Alina said as she helped me up "I'll take you to your room"
"She's going nowhere," Astrid said and pulled my hair forcing me to sit back down
"You have to finish the food You must" Seraphina said
"Eat!" Astrid yelled I started eating but the food was so salty and peppery that I felt like I was going to throw up
"Don't you dare throw up" Seraphina yelled

I vomited everything into the sink I ran to my room and looked at myself in the mirror My face was covered in bruises but then they started to disappear as if they had never been there in the first place
I put a plaster on my face hoping that no one would notice that my bruises had healed I stepped into the bathtub, and the hot water washed over my body soothing my skin
The place where Aunt Elodie had poured the hot food on me had healed up but it left a big scar on my back
I walked out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel I saw Hugo sitting on my bed
"How did you get in here? Get out!" I yelled
He held up his hands. "Take it easy, Imogen I know you need me, just like I need you"
"I did not need you so out" I said
He stand up moving close to me he push me to the bed remove my towel I was naked
"Let me go " I yelled
"Hey it won't be pain this time around"
"You monster don't you dare touch me get away form me "
He ignored my pleas overpowering me despite my attempts to flee As he stood to leave I seized the lamp stand from beside my bed.
I yelled, "I will kill you" as I stood up to hit him with the lamp stand Then, Alina appeared in front of me and took it away
"Let me kill this monster!"
"Then that will also make you a monster too."
"I'm already a monster I don't care" I exclaimed.
"I always tell you to stay calm Do you really want to kill him even before his time? You've already taken a life and now you want to end his" Alina scolded
"I don't care I'll use my own hands to kill him" I stubbornly declared
Alina raised her voice"I won't let you do that You need to calm down and listen to me" Instantly I felt a sense of calm as she approached Hugo and touched his head
"Forget everything you just saw" she whispered Hugo quickly fled from my room
She asked "If you kill him will that make you a better person?"
"He has already destroyed me Mom He raped me and this house feels like a living nightmare"
"Things are about to change"
"What are you talking about?" I asked puzzled She walked over to the window
"Things are about to improve but trust me it might feel like going from one bad situation to another" she warned
"And you said it's about to get better" I yelled
"Yes if you can endure it you will be safe In the next five minutes your life is about to change 3, 2, 1..." she counted down
Suddenly I heard a scream coming from downstairs.......
