Tw: mentions of self-harm and an eating disorder
As the cool morning air brushed against his face, Seungmin stepped out of his house, his heart feeling heavier than ever. The sky above him was a brilliant shade of blue, but it seemed to mirror his mood perfectly. It had been a week since Minho had dumped him for Jisung, and Seungmin couldn't help but feel like the world had been turned upside down. His stomach ached from hunger, but he couldn't bring himself to eat. He'd taken to cutting his hand on purpose, watching the blood drip onto the bathroom tiles, a twisted form of punishment for loving someone who didn't love him back.
The walk to school felt like a never-ending journey, each step taking him further away from the happiness he had once known. His friends didn't understand why he'd changed so much; they kept asking what was wrong and if they had done something to make him feel this way. But Seungmin knew the truth: it wasn't them. It was Minho.
Finally, he reached the familiar hallways of his school, the bright fluorescent lights and the chatter of his classmates serving as a harsh reminder of how much his life had shifted in the past week. His best friend, Jeongin, approached him, a concerned look on his face. "Hey, are you okay? You don't look like yourself." Seungmin forced a smile, but it came out strained. "I'm fine," he lied. "Just tired, I guess."
Lunchtime arrived, and as Seungmin made his way to the cafeteria, he couldn't help but feel the weight of everyone's gazes on his back. He could still feel Minho's words echoing in his ears: "You're too ugly for me, Seungmin." He took a seat at their usual table, hoping that for once someone else would join them. But no one did. Instead, he found himself alone with his thoughts and the pain that threatened to consume him whole(Gop Gop Gop).
As he was sitting there, lost in his misery, he noticed Minho and Jisung enter the cafeteria, holding hands and laughing together. Minho saw him and gave him a dirty look before whispering something into Jisung's ear. Seungmin felt his heart shatter all over again. He couldn't take it anymore. He stood up, pushing his chair back with a loud screech, and ran out of the cafeteria, seeking refuge in the nearest bathroom stall.
There, alone in the darkness, he let out a sob so raw and primal that it frightened even himself. He didn't know how much longer he could go on like this. But just as he was about to lose hope, a familiar voice broke through his despair. "Hey, you okay in there?" It was Hyunjin, his other friend. He must have followed Seungmin out of the cafeteria. "Come on, let's get you out of here," he said, gently nudging the stall door. "You don't have to go through this alone."
Tears streaming down his face, Seungmin opened the stall door and stepped out, collapsing into Hyunjin's waiting arms. "I'm such a mess," he sobbed. "I don't know what I'm doing." Hyunjin held him close, rubbing his back soothingly. "Listen to me," he said, his voice firm but gentle. "You are not ugly. You are not fat. You are perfect just the way you are." And as he spoke those words, Seungmin felt a spark of hope ignite within him. Maybe, just maybe, there was still a chance for him to find happiness again.
Hyunjin pecked Seungmin's cheek before leading him to the sink. "Here, let me get you some water. You look like you could use it." As Seungmin took deep breaths, trying to compose himself, he looked up at his friend in gratitude. "Thank you, Hyunjin," he managed to choke out. "I don't know what I'd do without you."
