It was getting to be about 6:45. Me and Sam spent the whole day prepping. Sam called ahead of time and informed me it was rave night, so I needed to wear neon colors. I didn’t have much neon so she picked out my black capri pants and bright pick converse. She let me wear one of her bright pink tank tops with a black ripped top that hung off my shoulders. It was ripped across my chest and back exposing the pink. It was actually a pretty cute outfit on me. She teased my hair a bit as well. I was in the hall bathroom doing my makeup. I was sitting on the counter with my feet in the sink looking in the mirror doing my eye makeup when I saw someone stop at the door. I glanced over to see Billie leaning against the door way. His hands were in his pockets.
“You know you don’t have to do this right? You’ve made your point to me.” I sighed and turned to him.
“You honestly think I’m actually trying to make a point to you.”
“Well.. I know you were upset about last night.”
“Billie,” I shook my head. “I don’t care about last night. I honestly want to have a good time. A stress free night.” I actually did want that. As the day went on Sams excitement and talk really made me curious about this place.
“You can! Here! We can watch a movie or, or go in the practice room and listen to some CDs or something.” He was trying to talk me out of it.
“No Billie. I’m doing this.” He sighed and stepped closer.
“Then just please,” He placed a hand on my arm. “Be safe and don’t do anything you’ll regret.” I pulled my arm from his grip.
“I’ll be fine.” He nodded and stepped back. “just trust me.”
“ok, but don’t trust what the sleeze balls up there say.”
“Ok Billie.” I smiled and he nodded. He finally stepped out and I continued what I was doing.
-Later at Ramseys-
We made our way to the bar area and stood at a tall table made for two. “Lets get a drink in you since you’re nervous and all then we’ll go dance!” Sam yelled over the music. I nodded. A waiter came by and she said something to him and he walked off. She smiled to me and started to wiggle to the beat. I smiled to her and looked over to the dance floor. It was crowded and everyone was bouncing and moving with the rhythm which was very different than what I’m use to. It actually gave me the urge to wanna jump around but I wanted to wait a bit longer. I felt a nudge and turned to see a small shot glass. I grabbed it and Sam had one as well.
“I thought you wouldn’t drink?” I yelled to her.
“One doesn’t bother me sweetie! I’m just showing you!” She gestured for me to raise it and I brought it up to my lips. She drunk it and I shot my liquid to the back of my throat.
“AKK! Good lord!” I made a face and set the glass down. She had the same look but laughed. It burned and tasted horrible.
“Lets go!” She grabbed me and we headed down the steps to the floor. We squeezed our way to the middle and started dancing. I couldn’t believe it but I was actually having a little fun. A guy was making his way through the crowd with tall skinny tubes in weird trays. Sam snatched up four and handed two to me. “Just like the shot!” I really didn’t want to but my curiosity got the best of me. Everyone looked like they were having a blast and I wanted to as well. I shot them down making the same face. The second was a bit smoother. I danced some more and the lights flashed. The music changed to something a faster pace. In that instant I felt a strange release in my brain. Sort of like warmth through my body making me smile. I was having a blast and was loosening up. I was spinning and bouncing and running my hands down my body. I felt free. Sam grabbed me and we moved closer to the front. They were squirting the crowd with these weird blacklight paints. We laughed and danced together as the paint splashed against our bodies. Normally I would be against groping Sam as she danced closely against me but I was having the time of my life. Before I knew it I was being handed more tubes of liquid. If two made me feel good then more must be better!
