Katsumi grabbed Shoto by the hand and took him to the back hallway near the bathrooms, to get away from the eyes of their classmates. She was embarrassed that she'd been crying and didn't want anyone to see her like that. Shoto just followed along, letting her drag him along.
"Sorry," she said. "I'm just a bit embarrassed. I didn't mean to start crying." She wiped her face with her sleeves, trying to clear away the remaining tears on her cheeks.
"It's okay," he said. "Really. I should have been more clear about how I felt, rather than assuming anything."
Katsumi stumbled forward a bit as she reached the end of the hallway, gripping the handle on the back exit door. "Wanna step outside with me?" she asked. Her face was still warm and she was drunk, so a bit of fresh air sounded good.
Shoto nodded and followed as she opened the door and stepped out into the alleyway behind the bar. The night air was cool on her face--not too cold, seeing as the seasons were starting to change from spring into summer. Even the days were getting warmer and longer now. Leaning against the brick exterior wall, Katsumi looked at Shoto.
She let her eyes follow the line of his jaw, and her attention settled on his lips as he took his bottom lip between his teeth. His face had fallen back to the same icy stare he always wore, leaving Katsumi guessing about what he was thinking as he looked at her.
"What are you thinking about?" she asked. Typically, she wouldn't just ask, but the words came out before she could stop them. He looked at her with flushed cheeks--perhaps because he was a little drunk as well--and his eyes darkened, if only for a split second.
"Do you want me to be honest?" he asked.
"Always." Katsumi took her index fingers and ran them under her eyes, trying to clean up the makeup she knew had probably spread underneath them from her tears earlier.
"I'm thinking about kissing you." His eyes slid down to her lips as he ran his tongue across his lower lip. "But I understand if you don't want to kiss me right now."
Without thinking, Katsumi stepped closer to Shoto and reached out, brushing her thumb across his lower lip, following the path she'd watched his tongue take earlier. His lips were still damp from his saliva, making it easy to slide her finger along. His tongue suddenly darted out of his mouth and he licked her finger, causing her to shiver. She bit down on her lower lip rather hard, trying to suppress the urge to kiss him.
But then again--why was she suppressing this urge? She now knew that he liked her in the same way. He wanted her. Hell, he'd just told her he wanted to kiss her. So why wasn't she kissing him right now?
Before she could think too hard about it, she leaned forward and pressed her lips against his, instantly parting her mouth to allow his tongue access. Her hands found his hair and she grabbed it in handfuls, using it to pull him even closer. Shoto got the message, wrapping his arms around her waist to press their bodies tightly against one another. The kiss was hot and messy, their teeth and tongues clashing in an intense and quick dance. Her knees began to grow weak as he kissed her, and she wrapped her arms around his neck to keep herself steady. He seemed to notice how she trembled, and he spun them around, pinning her against the wall. Shoto's fingers played with the hem of Katsumi's shirt, causing her skin to pebble wherever his hands made contact with her bare skin.
After a few minutes, Ahoto pulled away and regarded her with his typical and unreadable expression. Katsumi was still trying to catch her breath from the kiss as he looked at her, half wondering why he'd pulled away.
"That was... nice," Shoto said, and his lips formed into a small smile that made Kastumi's stomach do somersaults. It was rare that he truly smiled, and it made her feel all sorts of things when he did.
