Kenny whistles a soft tune while sweeping the lobby floor of City Wok. It finally slowed down after the dinner rush, and with it raining outside, he doesn't expect too many more customers the rest of the night.

The bell dings, catching his attention. Kenny turns around with a smile. "Welcome to City Wok, how can I-" He stops mid sentence, seeing who just walked in.

Y/n is giggling, wearing a familiar orange jacket and her hair wet from the rain outside. The jacket managed to keep her body from getting wet as well.

But it's not Kenny's familiar orange jacket she has wrapped around her shoulders. No, it's Kyle's jacket. And Kyle is standing next to her, a little too close for Kenny's comfort. His eyes narrow at the ginger.

"Hi, Kenny!" Y/n grins at her best friend, waving at him. She's happy running helped her get rid of her small issue.

Kenny smiles at Y/n, ignoring Kyle completely. "Hey, Sweetheart. What are you up to?"

"We were third wheeling on Stan and Wendy's date. We decided to ditch them after the movie so they could have some alone time. I didn't realize it was going to start raining, but Kyle gave me his jacket to keep me dry." She flashes Kyle a sweet smile before turning back to Kenny. "Isn't he the sweetest?"

Kenny can see Kyle's cheeks flush a bit and a loving smile cross his features. He bites back a glare, keeping his focus on Y/n instead. He won't act jealous in front of her. He can keep his cool. "You replacing me?"

"Never!" Y/n exclaims, wrapping her arms around Kenny's waist to hug him quickly. "You will always be my best friend."

"Good," Kenny says, wrapping an arm around her to return the hug.

Y/n quickly let's go of Kenny and makes her way back to Kyle. She grins at him, thinking about all the fun they had today. "Thanks for a fun time today. I enjoyed our double date." She holds a closed fist in front of her mouth, snickering at her own joke.

Kyle smiles at seeing her happy. "Yeah, I had fun with you, too."

Earlier...

"I don't wanna third wheel on your date with Stan," Y/n whines, being dragged behind Wendy to meet up with said boy in the mall.

Wendy giggles slightly. "You won't be third wheeling alone. Stan is bringing his best friend along, too."

Wendy doesn't miss the way Y/n perks up at the new information. "Kyle is coming too?"

Wendy had noticed the way Y/n and Kyle have been getting closer lately. Hanging out outside of school, walking to classes together, and how easily they get flustered around each other. So she is playing Matchmaker, with the unsuspecting help of her boyfriend.

"Yup!" Wendy nods enthusiastically. "We are going to get dinner and go see a movie. Maybe do a little shopping."

Y/n walks a bit faster subconsciously. "Okay, fine. As long as I have someone to share in my pain."

"Let's hurry up then. Don't want to keep our boys waiting."

Y/n is too excited to see Kyle to pick up on the meaning behind Wendy's comment. She's grown to really enjoy his presence. More than she already did.

They get to the restaurant soon enough to see Stan and Kyle chatting outside of it.

"Dude, why did you drag me with you to your date with Wendy?"

Stan shrugs his shoulders, also unsure why he was told to bring Kyle with him. "Not sure, dude. Wendy said to bring you with. She's probably planning something."
