Y/n forces a smile as she opens the car door. She plops into the passenger seat, setting her bag on the floor between her legs. "Thanks for picking me up."

"It's no problem," Wendy reassures her friend. "I'm sorry to hear about your fight with Kyle."

Y/n let out a deep sigh. "I'm just so confused right now."

"Let's not think about stupid boys." Wendy points to the glove box. "I got you something."

Y/n curiously opens the compartment, gasping lightly. A king-sized bar of chocolate sits there. She picks up the treat, a real smile lighting up her face. "You are amazing, Wends."

"I try," Wendy jokes, putting the car in reverse. She backs out of the driveway and heads for school.

The drive to school was mostly filled with Wendy ranting about how she thinks one of the freshmen on the Cheer Squad has a crush on Stan.

"She totally likes him," Wendy complains. "I can see the way she looks at him."

"Stan loves you. He isn't going anywhere," Y/n reassures Wendy.

"I know he does. But this girl is blonde, pretty, and younger. A guys total weakness!"

Y/n chuckles softly at Wendy's words. "He only wants you, I promise."

She opens her locker door to be met with a surprising sight. A bag/box of her favorite candy is sat on the shelf in her locker. Written on the bag/box is, 'I love you'.

Wendy grins at the sight. "Aw, that's so sweet."

Y/n bites her lip, trying to hold back a smile. She is supposed to be mad at Kyle, but it's hard when he does something so nice. "He's making being mad at him really hard."

"He must feel bad about yelling at you," Wendy suggests.

Y/n slips the candy into her backpack for later. She grabs her stuff for her first class of the day, then closes her locker, turning back to Wendy. "Maybe, but I'm not ready to talk to him yet. I'm still upset."

"That's your choice. I hope you guys work things out soon, though."

"Yeah. Me too," Y/n agrees. It's been less than 24 hours since their fight, and she already feels guilty about it. Sometimes, she wishes she wasn't so stubborn.

The two girls walk to class together, saying goodbye to each other as they walk to their desks.

Y/n plops into her chair, sighing softly.

"What's up, Sweetheart?"

Y/n turns her head to see Kenny's violet eyes watching her every move intensely. "Hey, Ken. I'm doing okay. How are you?"

Kenny ignores her question, his eyes locked on her face. "You look upset."

Y/n bites the corner of her bottom lip between her teeth. She doesn't think it would be a good idea to tell Kenny about her relationship or the bump in the road. She's afraid her best friend might do something stupid. He can be worse than Stan sometimes when it comes to being overprotective.

She flashes a small smile, her hand scratching the back of her neck. "I'm fine, don't worry about it."

"Y'know, I can tell when you're lying," Kenny states, his face softening. He grabs her hand and laces their fingers together. "You can talk to me about anything."

"I know." Y/n gently pulls her hand away from Kenny's. It makes her feel uncomfortable holding his hand after her fight with Kyle. She doesn't want to give her boyfriend any reason to suspect anything is going on between her and her best friend. "It's just girl stuff."
