Chapter 7: Junior
I looked at her for the longest time ever. I felt my heart skip a beat. I didn't want to show it though. She had hurt me. I put myself out there and she shut me down. Didn't give me an explanation or anything.
I smiled at Kay and went to sit in our booth.
Kay and Will went and left Sean there. She looked very uncomfortable.
I directed my attention to the news. I tried to not notice her sitting beside me until her warm body heat rubbed against mine and sent me shivers. Who am I kidding when can you ever not notice anyone that beautiful sitting next to you.
She probably liked Carter. Damn new kids. The anger inside me grew. We were in an awkward silence and I knew I would not break it first.
"Sorry." She mumbled. I pretended not to hear.
"I said sorry." She said a bit louder. I turned my attention to her.
"I heard."
She stared at me. What the hell she says sorry and expects to be forgiven. Two can play that game..
I got out of the booth and said my goodbyes to Will and Kay before texting Ashton
My house in 15?
I slowly walked to my car hoping for a miracle that Sean would come out. But as I turned around she just sat in the booth watching me out of the window.
A: c u soon bby.
I drove home, and met Ashton. The whole time our bodies moved in a synchronization I was imagining it was Sean I was with.
---MONDAY---
I walked into the school. Said my good mornings and purposefully skipped Sean. She was fuming and threw open her locker almost knocking Kay out. We had a stupid Pep rally today to introduce the new teams.
The cheerleaders were in the middle of a performance when my part came. I ran out in my football gear and started dancing with them. My soulja boy had many of the crowd whooping and hollering.
Ashton came and danced with me and I lifted her up on my shoulders. Everyone clapped. Except Sean. There was no smile on her face just betrayal.
I laughed and hoisted Ashton down. We started the dance and more football players joined in. I was the main one seeing as I was captain. I danced with Ashton again because she wouldn't let me go. The song ended with the Football Players spinning the cheerleaders and leaning them into our arms. I did this with Ashton and before I could withstand it, she leaned up and kissed me. Everyone clapped and I got a few yells. I looked for Sean to see how she took it. But all I saw was Will with wide eyes at me and Kay flipping me off.
