Chapter 30: Sean

“Ow Mom that hurts!” I squealed as she curled my eyelashes.

Mom was fixing my make up for graduation. We were in her master bathroom where mom was wearing sweats and I was in my graduation dress.

My dress was V-neck. It dropped low but not too low. It was hot neon pink with black along the edges. I wore black pumps with it and black jewelry.

Mom had already out up my hair in numerous curls.

“Sean! If you would stop squirming it wouldn’t hurt!” She demanded dropping the eye lash curler in giggles.

Dad walked in with a puzzled look on his face.

“I don’t even want to know.” He replied.

“No you don’t” Mom and me said in sync.

Dad smiled at me and then turned around again.

Today was Graduation Day.

The day I had looked forward to since Pre-k yet now that it was here there was nothing more I wanted to do rather than crawl in a ball and go back to Freshman Year.

Tomorrow morning I was being shipped back to Point University.

Mom and Dad had already explained that I will have fun with the other early arrivals.

I knew I’d miss Kay, Will, and Junior.

“Hey Sean?” Mom called making my train of thought derail.

“Yes momma?” I answered watching in the mirror as she played with my hair a little bit before putting it up.

“Are you going to miss us? I mean like miss your hometown?” She asked I could hear the depression ring through.

“Yes, of course. This is the only home I know.” I answered.

Mom recovered and began to get back to work.

I wanted to ask her. I wanted to ask her so bad. I wanted to ask her if she’d miss me like I miss her.

“Mom I-“ I started before Dad busted back in

“Um. Sean come here for a second?” He called.

I looked at mom as she let go of the curler and put it back on the counter to rest.

“Yeah dad?”  I asked walking into the living room while pulling a robe over my dress.

I didn’t want to ruin my dress what so ever.

“Door.” I walked over there slowly.

Opening it I peered out.

Suddenly I was bombarded with arms and hugs.

“We love you honey bun!”

“Oh Gramma! Poppy!” I screamed hugging them.

Poppy hugged me and made me feel tiny compared to him.

“I’ve missed you so much munchkin!” He called out.

We started talking before Dad decided to drive them to their hotel.

I walked back in the bathroom where mom was still seated.

I carefully noticed she was looking at something.

“Sean we never told you, but we knew from the start you were going to grow up to be somebody. Here you are…my little girl…….oh god!..... Sean I can’t let you go….i just can’t…..baby girl” She said between sobs.
