He parked the car outside of the roller skate rink where he was applying for a job. He glanced at the neon sign that said The Dome before he fixed the rearview mirror so he could see himself. He dragged a hand through his mullet to fluff the back before he got out of the car. He looked down at his outfit, a mint green and purple tracksuit. He had spent hours deciding what to wear. He wanted to make a great first impression.

Finding a job as a single omega wasn't easy. He hated that his secondary gender was such a big deal, especially as a male omega. He must have applied for at least fifty jobs but this was the first time he actually got an interview. Maybe because he hadn't mentioned his secondary gender in his letter. He knew that was against the law but he didn't care. No one would give him a chance otherwise. He just had to charm the owner to give him the job.

Determined to make a good impression, Louis stepped inside the roller rink in search of the owner, Harry Styles.

The place was big. He had been here once with his family as a teenager but stayed away after that. Mostly because the place had been a dump and smelled like cat pee. Louis looked around. The new owner had really fixed it up. It was nothing as he remembered it. The walls were painted in neon colors, there was graffiti everywhere, but nice graffiti. A mural of a big rainbow and ducks on one wall. Pretty weird but suitable. There were new lights and the speakers blasted Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley. The place was pretty crowded with people seemingly having a blast on their roller skates.

The owner had told him over the phone to meet him in his office upstairs so he headed over there and swallowed nervously. He knocked on the door and someone shouted "Enter!"

Louis opened the door and poked his head inside.
"Hi, I'm here for me job interview."

"Of course!" The owner smiled.

Louis walked over and held out his hand.
"Louis Tomlinson."

"Harry Styles. Wait, you're an omega."

Louis' heart sank.
"Yes, but I'm also a hard worker and..."

"I didn't mean it to sound offensive. I was just surprised. You didn't add that to your resume." Harry said.

"In me experience, revealing me secondary gender doesn't give me a chance at the job market." Louis sighed unhappy. He was ready to turn around and walk out of there.

The alpha furrowed his eyebrows.
"That's unfair. Take a seat."

Louis sat down opposite the alpha and waited.
"So, Louis. Why do you want to work here?"

"I love roller skating and the job sounds fun!" Louis lied. He just needed an income so he could move out of his mum's house.

"Do you roller skate often? I can't recall seeing you here." Harry wondered.

"Oh, I mostly roller skate on the street, you know." Louis shrugged. He hadn't been on a pair of roller skates in years but the alpha didn't have to know that. Thinking about it he had only tried it once. Unsuccessfully he added to himself.

"Alright. The job description is pretty clear. I need you to be out on the rink making sure that everyone is okay. How would that work out for you? I'm sorry, but your omega status can make it a little tricky and I'm concerned about your safety most of all." Harry said.

"I can handle meself and I've heard there's some kind of spray on the market now, you know, so I can mask me omega scent if you find that necessary. I really need this job and I promise that I will give it 150 percent!" Louis answered nervously.

"Oh, those masking sprays smell like absolute shit!" Harry commented.

This wasn't going well. Louis sighed and hung his head.
"Right."

"You know what? Let's give it a try. Two weeks to start with." Harry said.

Louis looked up and met the alpha's eyes. They were green he noticed.
"Really?"

"Yeah, I don't want to be the one who's in the way of your love of roller skating." Harry smiled.

"Eh, right. Thank you, Harry! Oh, Mr. Styles." Louis said and blushed.

"We're all on a first-name basis here. Can you start on Saturday? I will give you a schedule then." Harry said.

"Absolutely!" Louis smiled. That gave him two days to learn how to roller skate. That was doable. Right?
