eleanor couldn't sleep that well that night, she kept thinking of him, all their memories, that reconnection, the way her delicate heart skipped a beat at his sight, the way his eyes beamed when she looked at him, she felt like a smitten young dove, unaware of anything else in the world.

from across her small cramped apartment, there was a star, it shined brightly in the pitch balck sky, the star's light blinked at her, she felt like it was a message, a message indicating that this little reconnection would make her heart twinkle again, like it used to do.

                                                                       *

mike woke up, groaning, before taking a quick shot of coffee, that he gulped harshly. he was tired, tired of staying up late at night, wasting away the night at his cramped desk that was swallowed whole by papers and papers.

the only thing that stood out from his cluttered table was the wooden picture frame near his lamp, it had a picture, of him, his older sister nancy, his best friend lucas, his younger sister, his parents and his best friend, his el. what no not his-

he sighed, his lips curving into a gentle smile at the memory, before finally doing his morning amenities.  he walked out with his umbrella, with a soft smile imprinted on to his face.

                                                                       *

the rain poured down heavily, casting it's gloomy spell on the city of london below, the people loved rain, especially eleanor, but not when it's unexpected, hell her for not carrying an umbrella with her for crying out loud.

she sighed as the rain took over, wetting her coat and plaid skirt. she attempted to call a taxi but seems like they were too busy with other passengers.

she looked to the right, only one way now, but right when she was about to run to the office, a hand tapped her on the shoulder, a familiar hand that she knew all too well.

it was the raven haired boy's, of course. he had a kind expression on his face, he looked like a kindred spirit infront of her. "need an umbrella, el ?" he asked sweetly, with a smile.

"oh, thank you- thank you, so much !" she said, smiling back at him, their gazes intertwined for a moment before they walked down the beautiful streets of the town. "when did you move back to london, i thought you were going to move to chicago forever, or something ?" eleanor asked mike, who held the umbrella firmly in his hand.

"hmm...well i think london's better than chicago, not many friends nor family there, then my parents moved to canada and boy was it freezing, i almost froze to death for christ's sake." he said, making eleanor giggle a bit, he rambled quite alot, but she liked that about him, he was adorable.

"what about nancy, did she get into nyu, what about barb?" she asked, curious to hear more about his family. "oh...yes, she did..barb-barbara, she... she's-she was brutally murdered.." he sighed, with a frown upon his face, eleanor gasped with horror. "wh-what ?" she asked in shock.

"henry, that was his name, the murderer's... he's still lurking free.. that monster of a person." he said, he wanted to cry a bit, thinking about how nice barbara was to him, eleanor hugged him lightly, seeing the water form in his eyes. she held him that way, for a while. "it's okay..." he teared up a bit, before burying his head in her shoulder.
