"ah yes, we're finally here.." groaned mike, as he held both el and his luggage, while she admired the bustling atmosphere of the streets of atlanta.
"oh my god ! it's so beautiful here !" she exclaimed, as her eyes greedily took in the amazing image of the city.
"can you like-take-your..luggage, el ?" mike asked, he wasn't the strongest person, he was skinny and lanky, but a softie at heart.
"ah, sorry mike." she said, taking her luggage and grabbing his hand into the taxi. i guess the eggnog made her drunk, mike thought, chuckling a bit, he remembered those days when he and el used to drink non-alcoholic eggnog, but oh how times change, they're adults now anyways.
"to homewood suites™ please." el told the driver, who immediately nodded and took off to the said destination.
"exciting, isn't it ? exploring a new city.." el said, as mike nodded with a smile, watching her happily like a puppy around it's favourite toys.
"mike ?" she called out, before he nodded. "do you think that you'd ever move away from me, again ?" she asked, a little nervous on asking a quite sad question like the one just asked and that it'll ruin the mood. mike sighed, before intertwining their fingers. "no, never, ever again." mike said, before setting his gaze on her hand, placing a soft kiss on it, making el flush red.
platonic, am i right ?
el thought, but the other thought would make her faint and combust because she never thought that would happen, but she still knew, deep down, that he must've wanted to tell her something.
mike then raised his head again, still brushing the area his lips were on, with a smile, looking back at her, she was still red, and she laid her head on his shoulder, watching the view from inside the taxi.

"stop-stop, we're here." eleanor said, looking at the building that consisted of many colours like red, white and a pitch black roof, it had a pool that made it look ethereal.
"oh my lord, better than the pictures." mike said in awe.
"exactly." el said, walking out the car with her bags.
mike then paid the taxi driver, before heading inside the building with el. "the fact that the company paid for the stay but not the ride." el told mike, mike chuckled with a nod.
they both sat down at the lobby, waiting for robin, the company's manager to welcome them. the fireplace kept the duo warm as the cold rain poured down.
"ah hello you two !!" robin said with a smirk that definitely made it obvious what she was thinking, el blushed softly, before shaking the blush off.
"hello, robs." el said, while mike smiled at a light brown haired woman. "so, the first meeting is day after tomorrow, giving you two some free time to explore 'round atlanta, and me some free time to ask out vickie."
"vickie ?" el asked, with a confused look, as mike smirked. "ah yes, robin's girlfriend." he explained as el clasped her mouth. "oh-em-gee ! you never told me rob !!" she said, congratulating her. "yeah yeah, wheeler didn't phrase it well, it's with a 'to be'." robin said, flushing red.
"okay okay, so your rooms are upstairs, i get that you two are upset that you two don't share a room and can't have some 'fun' time but hey, the rooms are luxurio-" robin continued, getting a smack on the shoulder from el. "okay okay feisty, you can get to your rooms with an s." robin joked, before walking away as the duo walked up the stairs.
"i hate straight people." robin muttered under her breath, jokily.

"wow ! this room is -gosh ! what's the word ? wonderful ? beautiful no-" "divine ?" mike suggested as el nodded. "yes, divine." she said, in awe of the modern room. "the painting is so pretty !" mike said, admiring the bluish-gold painting.
"and this bed-it's-it's so fluffy !" el said, unleashing her inner child by plopping herself on the bed, it's been a while since she had a good night's rest. mike laughed at her childish behavior, "an eight year old." he said, before jumping on the bed too. el laughed, laying next to him, the alcohol clearly was starting to fade from it's effect. "oh how i love this place !" she rolled a bit, making mike kick her leg jokily, before she kicked back
mike smiled at her, el buried her face in his neck, before mike decided that it was time to make a move.
the moment el looked at him, he took her chin in his hand, and pressed his lips against hers. el was taken aback, but wasn't offended, instead, she returned the kiss, and didn't hesitate to place her hand on his cheek. mike's hands made it's way down her waist, gripping onto her tightly and refusing to let go, el's lip gloss was all over mike's lips, making her pull away.
"haha ! it's on your lips !!" she laughed, mike chuckled, trying to wipe it away with his hands. they looked into eachother's eyes, the same way they used to.
maybe that kiss they shared eight years ago wouldn't be the last kiss after all.
