The three moons passed quickly.
Each day got harder as the day she feared got closer.
She needed bedrest but struggled after her brother Lucerys became infected by an incurable illness.
Aelora was going back and forth between the Red Keep and Dragonstone while carrying her child with strength.
Her brother would die any day now and it caused everyone to be on edge.
Aelora stood in the throne room as a messenger from Dragonstone read from a scroll her mother had written in her distress.
Her brother would die tonight.
"This is terrible," Alicent said.
"I must go to Dragonstone.
He will die tonight" Aelora said.
"No.
Not so close to birthing your child.
You must stay in your chambers with Aemond.
Your brother would not want you to stress yourself as you are now" Alicent said.
"I say this is grand news.
It's finally time for that wretch to feel the kind of pain she's inflicted" Aegon said.
"Aegon" Alicent warned.
Aelora looked at Aemond.
"I admit my family has not been kind to you Aegon but no one should have to bear losing a child.
My mother will lose her mind and who knows what will come of her madness" Aelora said.
"All of you go to your chambers.
This is not something we can ignore.
I'm afraid that Aelora may be right about her mother's madness" Alicent said.
Aelora walked out of the room first with Aemond following.
She walked through the halls before crying out.
"Aelora," Aemond said.
She looked at him before crying out again as liquid covered the floor.
"Aemond.
Get me to our quarters.
Now" she said.
He quickly lifted her into his arms before rushing her to their quarters.
Once they got close enough her handmaidens followed them causing them to stop.
"My lord," one said.
Aemond looked at them "Get the Maester" he said before taking her into their quarters.
She stood up before leaning against the bed.
She cried out as Aemond took off his leather top leaving him in his tunic and trousers.
He walked to her and helped her up.
"Place your hands on the bedpost," he said.
Aelora did what he said as she let out shaky, heavy breaths.
Aemond undressed her before helping her into the bed.
She cried out as her body urged her to push.
"Aemond" she cried out as he held her as blood stained her nightgown.
"Im here," he said.
She placed her head on her shoulder.
"Im afraid" she said.
He kissed her head as the handmaidens rushed in with the Maester.
"I see it's time.
I assume my lady that you are aware that this will not be easy" the Maester said.
"She is aware now get on with it" Aemond said.
Aelora cried out.
She pushed as she stopped caring about the people around her.
Aemond warmth was enough.
She let out a bloodcurdling scream as Aemond struggled to listen to her.
Seeing her in so much pain was enough to break him.
"My lady do you wish for our help?" a handmaiden asked.
Aelora cried out before shaking her head.
"Aelora" Aemond said as he tucked her hair behind her ear.
She screamed as the Maester left the room knowing she was strong enough to not need his assistance.
"Make it stop.
Make it fucking stop" she cried out.
Aemond kissed her head.
She screamed as she kept pushing.
As she pushed all she could think of was her brother.
Was he dying as she brought life into this world or was he already dead?
She cried out as the pain swallowed her.
She felt faint as the pain came out quickly tearing her open as they made their way onto the now blood-stained bed.
She let out one last scream before everything went away.
She cried out before closing her eyes as the baby cried.
"I love you" Aemond said as the handmaidens took care of the baby.
"I love you too," she said.
Moments later the handmaidens brought the baby to her as Aelora laid against Aemond.
"Your child is a healthy boy my lady" the handmaiden said.
Aelora held her hands out as the handmaiden placed the baby in her arms.
Aelora looked at her son before looking at Aemond.
She kissed him before looking at her son again.
"Do you have a name?" the handmaiden asked.
"Rhaenyx.
Rhaenyx Targaryen" Aemond said as Aelora placed Rhaenyx on her chest.
"Shall I send Lady Alicent in?" the handmaiden asked.
"No.
Call the Maester back in to tend to Aelora.
My mother will meet the child when Aelora is able" Aemond said.
"Yes my lord" the handmaiden said before fetching the Maester.
"He has your eyes," Aelora said.
Aemond smiled before caressing the Child's face.
Aelora let her head fall back as the exhaustion swallowed her.
She had done it and now all she wished for was rest.
