Several hours passed as Aelora sat in Alicent's quarters with Aemond behind her as his hands rubbed her shoulders soothing her as Alicent held Rhaenyx.
"He looks identical to you Aemond.
It's almost as if he is a copy of you" Alicent said.
Aelora smiled "But he has your softer features Aelora.
I hope he will look like you more as he grows" Alicent said.
"I wish your grandsire was here to see Rhaenyx.
I imagine Viserys would be very pleased by this if he was still with us" Alicent said as she gave Rhaenyx back to Aelora.
"Have you heard news about my brother?" Aelora asked.
"Indeed.
I fear it is not good news my dear" Alicent said.
"That does not matter.
What is it?" Aelora said.
"He passed on moments after you brought your child into the world.
I was told he fought bravely but he couldn't fight anymore after so long of being so brave.
They found him in his chambers with his dagger in his chest" Alicent said.
Aelora looked at Rhaenyx.
"And my mother.
What is to happen now?" Aelora said.
"We will wait.
For now, it's best not to worry.
If she goes mad I hope her court will stop her from doing anything irreversible" Alicent said.
Aelora took Aemond's hand.
"Once she hears of Rhaenyx she will only want him dead" she said.
"I won't let her near him my darling" Aemond said as he moved to sit on the side of the chair.
He lifted her head before caressing her face.
"It scared me that you have to say that.
It's as if we all know she at any moment could try to kill my son" Aelora said.
"She may try but I assure you I would cut off both of her arms before she touches him.
The same fate will apply to anyone who tries to harm our child or even you" he said before kissing her.
Aelora then looked at Rhaenyx.
"I have never agreed with violence but if my mother tries to harm my family I will take it apon myself and kill her myself in whatever way I see fit" Aelora said.
"You have changed my precious dove" Aemond said.
"Maybe.
I still hope I won't have to awaken such things" Aelora said.
"I too my dear.
Now go rest.
We will know more in a short time" Alicent said.
Aelora nodded before standing slowly as the pain failed to fade as much as she wished.
She used Aemond as a crutch as they walked to their quarters.
"I cannot believe my brother is dead.
He was such a sweet boy no matter what torments he caused us" she said.
"He is no longer suffering my precious dove," he said.
"I hope the gods treat him well," she said.
Once they got to their chambers Aelora sat by the fireplace as Aemond sat beside her.
Rhaenyx then began to cry from hunger as Aelora relaxed after feeling her heart race through her visit with Alicent.
"Aemond could you loosen the back of my gown?" she asked as she rocked Rhaenyx.
"Yes" he said he standing behind her.
She leaned forward before feeling him loosen the back of her bodice.
She then pulled her gown down before allowing Rhaenyx to latch onto her breast as she used the pulled-down fabric to cover herself.
Aemond then sat beside her again before taking off his eyepatch.
"I know you wish to stay with you mother but would you just consider moving to a castle without all of this bloodshed and anxiety" she said.
He looked at the fireplace "Yes.
I believe now it's the most suitable option if you are so worried about your mother trying to kill our son" Aemond said.
"Indeed.
I just hope we can run quite quickly.
Bloodshed is not uncommon in these halls" she said before looking at him.
Whatever happened next was in the gods hands.
