The last of Hitlers loyalists where dead by the time I got to Liam. I lost my footing and fell to my knees beside him.

"Eve-lyn." Liam wheezed, as he fought for breath.

"Liam save your breath, we're going to get you out of here." I replied but Liam gripped my arm, using what little strength he had.

"I'm.....-I'm not going....to- make it."

"Don't you say that! Your going to be all right Liam. I'm not going to let you die. I can't-." my voice cracked and I felt tears starting, I quickly wiped them away with the back of my hand. "Dang it! Liam you have too!" silent tears started running down my cheeks and I hung my head.

"No...you are...-you...are- going to get back...alive...and marry...The Prince...and future..King.." Liam's chest rose and fell with each labored breath. "You...will..not- go back...as a prisoner of war...you will...go back as the victor..."

"Not without you!" desperation was in my voice. "I have to save you, I promised you." but deep down. I knew I couldn't save everyone, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't keep everyone I loved alive.

I felt Liam's hand catch my chin to make me look at him.

"You...already....have...saved me...now...will you do this....favor for me...? Get back...alive...and....watch over...Ze-Zephyr for me."

"I won't let you down..Liam." I replied.

Liam gave me a small smile, but then it faded. I felt his hand fall from my chin and he became very still.

"Liam?.." I gripped his arms, "Liam!?!" I cried out in desperation, but he didn't move. The light was gone from his blue eyes. "LIAM, PLEASE!"

My entire world was shattered, I screamed until my throat was raw and I couldn't scream no more. Finally I couldn't hold my sorrow and pain back anymore and I started sobbing. My entire world shattered, I was so lost in my grief that I didn't register my father's presence, until he kneeled down beside me.

It felt as though Liam's death made the world still, it was eerily quiet around us. I didn't know how long I sat there.

"WE FOUND HER!" shouting broke the silence, I lifted my head and looked around. I saw soldiers quickly approaching. By now I would have gotten to my feet, rifle at the ready.

But this time I didn't. I couldn't bring myself to move away from Liam.

"Alert His Royal Highness! Quickly!" the voice of a British soldier made me look over.

"Hackathrift Pippa..- we must get you back to Buckingham Palace." a soldier who I faintly recognized, told me.

"I will not go alone. Unless this man and the horse goes with me." I slowly got to my feet

"Very well." he replied, dipping his head, though I could see some unease in his tone but nonetheless didn't question me.

We were finally going away, away from this terrible place, it was all over. Hitler was dead and the last of his loyalist would be too. Soon I'd be back on a plane, but first I had a memorial I had to be at.

Liam's memorial.
