A snort escaped Zephyr as I led him across the dead grass, on his back. Hidden partially under my cape was Liam. I glanced behind me every few minutes but I wasn't worried, whenever Liam slipped slightly. The buckskin stallion stopped for Liam to use the last of his strength to pull himself up again.
"We're almost there Liam," I said, but my voice was above a whisper.
Liam's reply was a small groan that escaped his lips. I looked back behind Zephyr's back, making sure no one was following us. Though the front looked nearly deserted with smoke billowing from the sides, I knew all too well I had to be on my guard.
"Hey, where do you think you're going with that horse?!"
I turn around, rifle at the ready.
"None of your business. I suggest you put that gun down, Solider." was my reply. My eyes scanned his collar and then his face. Suddenly I knew, this man was a part of the British army as I recognized him by uniform from my own troops whom I sent out.
"Lower your gun comrade, you don't fire at his Highnesses Adviser," I spoke again. The solider eyed me warily, his hands not removing themselves. I let out a breath and turned back to Zephyr, I pushed away the blanket away to a hidden pocket then I pulled out Princess Diana's sapphire engagement ring.
It was a title, a life long forgotton. The ring itself glittered in the half-light, the sapphire shone as bright as a star. I placed the ring on my finger and held up my hand.
"Sean, it's Hackathrift Pippa."
The soldier whom I have known personally as Sean dropped the gun and got on his knees, "Forgive my Hackathrift Pippa, for I did not intend to hurt you." I walked over to him and put a hand on his shoulder.
"Rise, you don't need to bow to me." I lifted my hand and let him stand, "I need your help, Sean. This solider needs a doctor right away, he's been shot " I turned back to Zephyr and pulled back my robe. Sean followed and glanced at Liam.
"The British hospital is nearby, I will show you it, Hackathrift Pippa. But I would like to bring something to your attention. The entire of Britain believes you are dead." My breath stuck but it was something that resulted in consequences.
"Than I'll be giving Britian the suprise that I am alive."
