The sounds of commands echoed nearby as commanders and their troops trained or were getting ready to leave for the battlefield. Above was the overlook. Here I was for most of the day. However, I was not alone. Our allies, as well as the High Captain of the soldiers, were with me.
"Baka, get another fifty soldiers with the troop leaving for the Eastern border," I said while taking measurements for the next wave. Baka, the High Commander of all the soldiers and commanders, bowed his head and left with his two soldiers. I rolled up the paper.
"Your Royal Highness!" I turned to see the High Commanders of our other allies bow as Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex strode in with royal gaurds beside him. As he neared me, I bowed my head,
"Your Royal Highness."
"Do not be alarmed, I have come on my own accord. I was quiet curious to see the progress we are making." the Duke of Sussex replied, he walked past me to look at the troops.
"Yes, your Highness." I replied, I walked over to the table and resumed writing out one of the plans. "All because of the war." I murmured.
"I can assure you the United Kingdom will win, Great Britain will win." Harry assured.
I could only dip my head, but I couldn't deny the unease that settled deep within me. My mother, Elena did her best to hide me away from Germany years ago. After we fled Germany with our lives to the United Kingdom I was recruited to be a nurse for the wounded which was short lived as I had caught the eye of the British Royal family and I was sent to the University of St Andrews there I had met Prince William.
I never saw my mother again. I could only hope that she was alive.
Back at the palace in yet another drawing room, Charles, Prince of Wales rolled four pairs of sticks, letting them clatter to the ground, "There. My horses have your knights at bay."
"Knights at bay are dangerous," Prince William replied who was seated on the other side of his father. He grabbed the sticks. rolled them in his hands and dropped them, moving his knights on the board.
"Life is full of surprises, William." Charles, Prince of Wales took the sticks and rolled them, dropping them. "Aha, and today I have one for you, my Queen."
"Pippa," William brightened.
"And Leonor," Charles added. William growled slightly. "Of course." He grabbed the sticks again, letting them clatter. "Triples. You've lost and I'll never let you win again."
"Oh, you thought by losing to me you would win for my adviser. Well, crowns are sometimes lost by smiles-" He broke off as Leonor, Princess of Asturias and her Captain walked in.
"Your Royal Highnesses," Leonor and her Captain bowed, but her eyes remained on Prince William who dipped his head and looked away.
"Princess Leonor, I trust you and your family slept well?" the Prince of Wales asked.
"Yes, thank you. Your Highness, I wanted to oversee the troops but Prince Harry, is there along with Hackathrift Pippa," Leonor replied, her attention on the Prince of Wales.
"I sent word that my adviser was to return to the palace hours ago. Why hasn't Hackathrift returned?" Charles asked, looking up.
"She was busy with your son, Prince Harry." Leonor turned her eyes slightly at Prince William again. The Prince of Wales looked troubled. He got up from his chair and rang. A servant immediately came bowing his head,
"Get my Captain. Tell him to meet me in the grand hallway." he was quiet and then spoke again, "Thank you, Princess Leonor, for informing me." Charles left the white drawing room while the servant followed suit as well as the Captain leaving Princess Leonor and Prince William alone.
"You speaking all these rumors about Hackathrift Pippa before my father," William spoke, slowly losing his calm.
"Is that any way to treat royalty?" Leonor replied, trailing her smooth fingertips along the collar of his suit jacket. Prince William turned to her, and got up from the chair while slowly moving his hands up her arms seductively, Leonor wrapped her arms around his neck. William pressed his lips to hers, then broke away, smirking. Leonor's eyes narrowed and she pushed him away from her.
"I only gave you a taste of me but Pippa will have all of me. Did you really think my kiss is a promise of something you'll have? No darling. It's to let you know of something you'll not have," Prince William replied.
Leonor pursed her lips in a firm line, then spoke. "Does that matter? I can assure you that I will have all of you whether you enjoy it or not. But I think you will." She watched him, then walked out of the doors. William wiped his lips with the back of his hand, a disgusted and livid look on his face.
