Alex exited the elevator to the first floor. He walked over to the Starbucks that is within his office building. He sees Zack standing outside the entrance as he approaches.
Alex blushes thinking about how they have already hooked up and are now going on little dates.He is still finding it a little odd they are working backwards. Zack is scanning the area trying to find Alex. Their eyes meet and Zack smiles
"Hi." Alex says sweetly as he approaches Zack.
"Hi."'Zack says and leans in and gives Alex a kiss on the cheek.
Alex wasn't expecting it. So he blinked a couple times, startled.But it was cute.
"Sorry! I shouldn't have just kissed your cheek I just..." Zack trailed off trying to think of the best way to explain himself.
Alex smiled reaching and squeezed Zack's hand reassuringly "Zack...No worries. Just pleasantly surprised was all. I mean we have seen each other naked already. Working backwards here."
He winked at the end of the statement as Zack blushed. Whether it was embarrassment infatuation that caused him to blush Alex didn't know. Alex opened the door and the smell of roasted beans and baked delights filled their senses.
"I love the way coffee smells." Zack said with a smile.
Alex smiled. "Me too!"'
They approached the counter and Zack ordered an Iced White Mocha, and 2 cake pops. and Alex ordered a plain drip coffee.
Alex went to reach for his phone to pay with his Apple Pay. But Zack was faster and slapped his phone against the card reader.
"I asked you to meet me for coffee. I am not letting you to pay." Zack said as he stuck his tongue out at Alex's pouty face.
"Fine. But I am stealing a cake pop." He stuck his tongue out back at Zack.
Zack laughed. "Why do you think I ordered two?"
They made small talk as they waited for their drinks, once they got them, they found a table and Alex pulled out a chair for Zack. Zack nearly fainted at the chivalry Alex was showing him today.
"You are too sweet. How are you this handsome, this chivalrous, and stable and still single?" Zack swooned as he looked at Alex across the table from him.
Alex laughed lightly. He was trying to choose his words wisely. Not wanting to Bring Everly up until he was sure he and Zack would be more than a couple cute dates and a hookup.
"Ummm.... I guess no one has really appreciated my chivalry as they should thus far." Alex said. Trying to not show he was lying slightly.
"Well I appreciate it.. I am so used to people looking at me like a piece of meat and you look at me like a person, so I am really grateful you make me feel human." Zack said, speaking honestly.
"As opposed to an Alien? Damn... I knew you were too charming. You are an alien. An alien sent to earth to charm innocent,boring lonely men." Alex said with a playful tone.
He smacked the table in feigned frustration. "Well don't probe me... or abduct me...again."
Zack just laughed at Alex's comical commentary. "You caught me.. alien in disguise here. Don't expose my secret."
Zack winked. "And If I remember correctly you probed me."
Alex nearly spit out his coffee. "Zack!" Alex said as he playfully smacked Zack's chest.
Zack flexed his peck muscle as Alex touched it. Alex admittedly let his flat palm rest on Zack's chest a little longer than normal.
Zack cleared his throat. "Alex? You want a cake pop?"
