Jennie couldn't help but feel anxious as she sat alone in the restaurant, waiting for Lisa to arrive. Alison had already left to spread the word about the upcoming proposal to the assistant gang, but Lisa was nowhere to be found. Jennie tried calling her, but there was no answer. As each minute passed, her anxiety grew stronger. Lisa was never late, and Jennie couldn't help but wonder if something had happened to her.
To pass the time, Jennie started to daydream about how Lisa would react when she proposed. She couldn't stop smiling, imagining Lisa's adorable expression when she popped the question. But just as she was lost in her thoughts, her bodyguard approached her, telling her that someone wanted to see her.
Jennie's heart skipped a beat.
A guy with a thick French accent greeted her, "Good evening, Jennie. I hope you don't mind if I sit here." Jennie looked up, shocked to see Fred sitting right before her, without waiting for her response.
"I believe this is the first time we've met one-on-one like this," Fred smiled at Jennie.
"Uhm, yeah..." Jennie hesitated to respond to his words. "Can I help you?" Jennie changed her tone.
"I came here on purpose to talk to you face to face. I believe I owe you some explanations about..." Fred clears his throat, "you know..."
"You and Lisa?" Jennie spoke bluntly, visibly uncomfortable with Fred's presence.
Fred nervously apologized, "I know I should have said this from the start, but I held back because of Lisa's request."
"So, you blame Lisa for this?" Jennie sounded annoyed.
"No, no... Of course not," Fred became increasingly nervous with Jennie's change in tone. "Look, I've always wanted to be friends with you. I know your relationship with Lisa very well because, technically, I was her living diary. You had no idea how it broke her when she decided to accept...you know...," Fred explained.
"Then why do you insist on keeping the ploy if you know it's just breaking Lisa apart?" Jennie asked.
Fred chuckled, amused by Jennie's directness. "Same question for you. Why do you continue your media ploy even though you know it will only hurt yourself and Lisa?" He smirked.
Jennie was stunned by Fred's words, and her anger was at the edge.
Fred looked directly into Jennie's eyes and spoke in a calm tone, "Listen, Jen. I came here in peace. I offered you a truce because we both love Lisa."
Jennie's ears perked up as she heard those words.
"Wait, not that kind of love. Geez, calm down," Fred quickly corrected himself after seeing the expression on Jennie's face. "You do know I'm gay, right?" he added, stuttering slightly.
Jennie's eyes bulged in surprise as she processed the information. Fred chuckled after seeing her reaction. "Trust me, hon, even Lisa is manlier than me," he winked. "The point is, I just wanted to clear things up. I know you love Lisa so much, and I'm telling you right now, I'm putting all my money into your whole drama!"
As Fred continued to talk, Jennie became more certain that he was indeed gay.
"Your love story with Lisa is more engaging than Grey's Anatomy! God knows how many more seasons until it ends. I stopped watching at season 11, by the way. RIP Derek Shepherd," Fred gestured a cross sign.
"Anyway, the point is, you two are meant to be together. I know how deeply Lisa loves you, how she's your biggest fan, the number one supporter for whatever you do. She would do anything just to be with you," Fred held Jennie's hand tightly. "And because of that, I really want to ask you this; say yes to her proposal," Fred added.
