"What did she say?"
"Lisa, I'm so sorry..."
"I give you 5 seconds, Fred."
"Lisa..."
"One!"
As Fred walked into the room, the gang questioned him about what happened between him and Jennie at the restaurant. At first, Fred hesitated to tell the truth, insisting that he wanted to talk to Lisa directly. But Alison wasn't having it. She warned Fred that if Lisa found out before he told them, things would get ugly real fast.
Finally, with a little more coaxing, Fred opened up about what had happened. The details made Alison absolutely furious, and she was ready to tear the place apart. Thankfully, Jane and Becky held her back and kept her from going full-blown Hulk mode.
Fred's heart was pounding as he stood in front of Lisa, who was furious. He felt his legs wobbling as he witnessed a much scarier version of Lisa than what he had seen earlier in the living room with Alison.
Fred turned to Alison, hoping for some assistance, but he felt betrayed when he saw Alison smirking at him. Alison had promised to mediate, but she had left him hanging. Fred cursed silently, feeling helpless in the face of Lisa's wrath.
Every time Lisa spoke, the pungent smell of whiskey engulfed the room, and Fred knew he was in trouble. Lisa and alcohol together were a recipe for chaos, and Fred was right in the middle of it.
Lisa and Fred were facing each other by the pool, and the tension between them was palpable. Lisa's eyes were sharp and penetrating, making Fred feel like they could see through his soul.
"Two!" Lisa took a step closer to Fred, and he couldn't help but feel a surge of fear coursing through his body. He knew he messed up badly, and Lisa was not happy about it.
"I'm sorry, okay!" Fred shouted, hoping to ease the tension a bit.
"Wrong answer. Three!" Lisa took another step forward, forcing Fred to step back. He was now standing on the edge of the pool, and any wrong move could send him splashing into the water.
"Four!" Lisa's voice got louder and more impatient. Fred knew he had to devise a good explanation, or he would be in big trouble.
"She didn't say anything!" Fred raised his hands, trying to defend himself. "I swear to God, she didn't say anything! Dang it, Lis, she even gave me a smile! I thought she would say yes, I thought I did the right thing!"
Lisa's eyes softened a bit as she looked at Fred. She could see the fear and honesty in his eyes, and she knew he was telling the truth.
"Did the right thing?" Lisa scoffed. "Do you know what it costs me?" Her voice was filled with anger and frustration.
"I'm sorry..." Fred lowered his head, feeling guilty for causing Lisa so much pain. "If there was anything I could do to change all of this, I promise you I would. I didn't mean to ruin everything."
"Then why? Why did you tell her that nonsense? Why did you scare her?" Lisa's voice was shaking with anger.
"I'm terrified!" Fred shouted back, feeling the need to defend himself. "When you told me you wanted to give up your career, I was scared, okay? You know how much I adore you, Lis. I tried to reason with you, but you never listened. I was desperate, okay? I thought Jennie was the only way. That's why I dared to meet her."
"You had no right!" Lisa shouted, feeling betrayed by him.
"I know, and I'm sorry!" Fred said softly, trying to calm her down. "It's just weird that Jennie turned down your proposal when I heard she wanted to propose to you too."
