"Are you sure you want to do this?"

"It's too late to change my mind, don't you think?"

"You know, for the record... I never thought I would team up with you to win Lisa's heart,"

"I'll take it as a compliment, Nini."

"Nope. Nu'uh,"

"Too soon?"

"Yup"

Jennie had just returned from a restaurant, where she had met with Fred to finalize their plans. Two days had passed since Jennie had rejected Lisa's proposal, and she hadn't seen the Thai since then. They weren't speaking to each other directly, but they were still trying to keep tabs through their assistants, Alison and Alice.

Alison and Alice were the key to the success of Jennie's plan to propose to Lisa today. They had known about the plan all along and had worked tirelessly to make sure everything went smoothly. All the staff knew about this plan except Lisa and Jake, who had to be kept in the dark to avoid him messing everything up (again).

This morning, Lisa was getting ready for a photo shoot. But she was feeling a bit confused about the concept. They explained that the shoot would take place around Paris and they wanted to make it like a short film. Lisa wasn't given a script, and they just told her to express her feelings when she was in that place. She felt a bit nervous but knew she had to pull it off.

"Where's Alice?"

"Today's her off day. It's just me and you. Isn't it exciting?"

"No."

"Oh, come on!" Jake groaned. "Are you still mad for that fireworks incident? I must say I did a great job because that incident could cover your tears that night-"

Lisa interrupted him in an annoyed tone, "Go away, Jake. Come back to me when you get a reply from Alison," she spat.

Jake walked out of the green room, annoyed because he knew it was impossible to get an answer from Alison after what he did yesterday when he received a call from Fred. Jake then tried his luck by calling Alison once again, hoping for a miracle.

As Jake's call connected, Alison's voice sliced through the line in a mocking tone. "What's up, traitor?" she sneered.

Jake was stunned that Alison had actually picked up. "You picked up...," he stammered.

"I'm hanging up now," Alison said, still taunting him.

"Wait! Please, wait!" Jake pleaded, panic creeping into his voice. "My job is on the line, Al. Please cooperate. What's Jennie doing? I need to tell Lisa before I become unemployed," he reasoned.

"Isn't it great? Maybe then you can actually work for him instead," Alison's tone was heavy with sarcasm.

"Come on, Al..." Jake pleaded, feeling increasingly desperate.

"Alright, fine. She's on her way to meet Hojung, and we're about to grab some ice cream," Alison answered curtly. "What about her?" she shot back, demanding more information.

"We're on-site for the photoshoot. Her mood is kind of all over the place, and I don't know why," Jake said. "Anyway, you need to try the new gelato place at-"

"Just because I'm cooperating with you doesn't mean we have to do small talk," Alison interrupted, her voice cutting through Jake's words. "Bye," she said before hanging up the phone.

As Jennie watched Alison scold Jake, she couldn't help but shake her head in amusement. Sure, Jake could be unbearable at times, but Jennie knew that deep down, all the staff cared about him. After all, he was the youngest assistant among them and often the target of their prank.
