"So, Willow has powers now." Oak growled, "And the reason we didn't know of her powers before is because of my powers."

Sunlight nodded, eyes narrowed.

"So it's my fault. That's what you're telling me. I'm the one who prevented Willow from discovering her powers. I'm useless and can never hang out with Willow again because otherwise my powers will cancel hers out."

"We never said you were useless!" Willow hissed, "You're amazing, you've kept me warm. And you discovered a use for your powers that none of us would have ever thought of, using your fire as claws."

"Nobody can see past my powers. Everyone sees me as the kitten with fire powers. Nobody cares about my personality or who I am, they only care about keeping my fire in check and making sure I don't hurt anyone. They don't see that they're hurting me by ignoring that I'm more than just fire!" Oak glanced over to his new friend, "Daniel is the only one who has cared to know more about me."

Daniel purred proudly.

"You never said it wasn't my fault. The only thing you disagree with is that I'm useless." Oak's face seemed to darken somehow, Sunlight looked up to see if she'd accidentally summoned a cloud over him. Oak had always been the one to stand in the light, he would always find the spot with the most sunlight in the room, so seeing him in a shadow seemed odd. It was like seeing a new side of him that she hadn't noticed before.

A fire suddenly started between them, separating Oak and Daniel from Sunlight and Willow. As quickly as it had started, it stopped, leaving a burnt line between them.

"This line shows the division now between us. You two stand in the light, our parents' favourites. While Daniel and I stand in the dark, hated as usual. Sunlight, you've always outshined both of us since your powers allow you to start fires just as easily as mine. Willow has always been special and overprotected despite not having powers until now, because she's blind and 'deserves special treatment'. While I was standing in the light to draw attention to myself." Oak began pacing back and forth on his side of the line.

"I never asked for special treatment." Willow said with a hint of desperation in her voice.

"And I never asked to be ignored! You got special treatment anyway. We got what everyone thought we deserved." Oak argued.

"You don't deserve to be ignored." Willow pleaded, "I never said you did and neither did anyone else."

"But everyone was thinking it. Why else would they ignore me? Don't try to make things better, they're too broken to fix!"

Sunlight finally spoke up, "everyone gave me special treatment because they thought I'd turn evil and destroy them all if they didn't. I look angry all the time because of my naturally narrow eyes, my unlimited powers are intimidating, my silence is seen as anger when I don't talk to others. I would willingly trade places with you."

"I would rather be feared than ignored!" Oak's paws lit on fire as he raised his voice. He changed the fire to claw shapes at the ends of his toes as if he had unretracted his claws.

Sunlight flexed her paws, extending her claws as well.

"I'll be back with reinforcements." Oak hissed to his sisters. "I'll get every kitten in this camp on my side and we'll come back here, ready for a fight."

"You're overreacting," Willow said, her fur standing on end. "I never meant this to turn into a fight! I just wanted to tell you the news about my powers. I thought it would be good news! But you've turned it into bad news and twisted our words."

"Yet again you're saying it's all my fault! Even though you haven't said anything about whose fault it is, the words you choose point the blame to me. I'm not twisting your words, I'm reading into it and finding out your true meaning."
