"What do you mean I can't go?" (Y/n) sharply asked, her eyebrows furrowing.
"Well," Aang glanced over his shoulder, looking at Katara and Sokka who looked back at him with the same nervous eyes. "I- umm..."
"What we mean is that you're not running around the city trying to keep us out of trouble with those burns on your arms," Sokka cut in, walking past Aang.
(Y/n) frowned, crossing her arms. Her arms still had bandages around them, and, although she wouldn't admit it, any movement that she made burned her charred skin.
"(Y/n), we know you care about us, and we really appreciate that. But this is our turn to help and care about you," Katara softly stated, grabbing Aang's hand.
(Y/n) let out a frustrated groan, tugging on her blue sleeve. Aang shot her an empathetic look while Momo ran around her shoulders.
"Fine. But you all have to promise me," (Y/n) said seriously, her eyes narrowing at the group. "That you will stay out of trouble and find this 'Bumi' guy and come back before nightfall. I still don't like how unnecessary and dangerous this stop is. I guess I'll just stay with Appa for the day..."
"Aang, wait. (Y/n)'s right, it's dangerous for us to just waltz into Omashu with you being the Avatar and all," Katara suddenly spat out.
Sokka thought for a moment, his hand resting on his chin. His eyes lit up like he had gotten the best idea in the world. 'Oh dear.' He ran to Appa pulling some of his loose fur off of his coat and plopping it on Aang's head.
"Taadahh! An old man traveling with his grandchildren!" Sokka had a gleam in his eye, showing Aang's "brilliant" disguise.
Katara shook her head in disappointment. (Y/n) tilted her head, gears turning in her brain. She walked closer to him, ruffling the fur on his head and tying it with a rope to keep it upright. She let out a small laugh, the nerves of leaving them alone dissipating. She ruffled his "hair".
"You guys stay safe alright?" She waved them off, watching them run off to the city. "Love you!"
Their silhouettes disappeared behind the hill. (Y/n) sighed, bringing her arm down. She rubbed her arms, wincing as the bandages rubbed against her skin. She lied down on Appa's tail, taking off the bandages and attempting to re-wrap her arms. She paused for a moment, holding her burnt arm up into the air. The sunlight shined down on her, highlighting the real damage Zuko had done. Her arm was reddish, with a clear liquid coating her open wound. Black pieces of ashy skin dropped down certain parts of her forearms only holding on to a single piece of dried bloodied skin. She wrinkled her nose, thinking about how ugly they looked.
Letting out a disappointed sigh, she rewrapped it and repeated the same action with her other arm.
"I guess we have some time to kill, huh?" She petted Appa's fur, closing her eyes and basking in the warm sunlight.
Appa groaned, laying down and tucking his arms beneath his body. (Y/n) chuckled softly, sitting up and walking in front of him. She ruffled the fur on his arrow, laughing as he softly grumbled.
"I'm gonna go find a little snack for us to eat, okay?"
(Y/n) headed into the nearby woods, listening to the leaves crunch beneath her boots. The crisp air brought her a sense of serenity. She wondered what kind of trouble her siblings were getting into. (Y/n) knew that her siblings were prone to chaos, but she still decided to let them go. She wasn't quite sure why, but something inside her told her she needed time to herself.
