"No flying this time."
(Y/n) looked at Sokka with a confused stare as he walked up to Appa's saddle, grabbing the sleeping pack out of her hands.
"But we always fly," Aang replied, equally as confused.
"Think about it," Sokka remarked in a serious tone, continuing to unload the camping gear. "Somehow, Prince Zuko and the Fire Nation keep finding us. It's because they spot Appa. He's just too noticeable."
Katara scoffed, placing her hands on her hips. "What? Appa's not noticeable."
"He's a gigantic fluffy monster with an arrow on his head! It's kind of hard to miss him."
Appa groaned, turning away from Sokka. Sokka sighed in reply, placing his palm on his head.
"Sokka's just mad because he doesn't have an arrow," Aang cooed to Appa, ruffling his fur with a bright smile.
"I know you all want to fly, but my instincts tell me that we should play it safe and walk."
(Y/n) frowned, thinking of their perfect campsite. Everything they needed was nearby. There were lots of mushrooms near the large trees, the weather was perfect, and a nearby dam had collected enough water to sustain them.
"Who made you the boss?" Katara leaned in closer, crossing her arms in a banterful way.
Sokka raised an eyebrow, his hands placed on his hips. "I'm not the boss. I'm the leader."
(Y/n) rolled her eyes listening to the futile conversation between her siblings.
"You're the leader? But you're voice still cracks," Katara commented with a smirk. "Plus, shouldn't (Y/n) be the leader because she's the oldest and the strongest?"
"I'm next in line to be chief and I'm a great warrior," Sokka retorted, dragging out his words for emphasis. "So I'm the leader."
(Y/n) giggled to herself at how deep Sokka's voice had suddenly become. Katara and Sokka continued to banter in the background as (Y/n) slid down Appa's leg to the ground.
"I think if we had to make someone the leader, it would be Aang," (Y/n) suddenly spoke up, giving a big smile to Aang. "He is the avatar. Plus, he has the best leadership qualities."
Sokka scoffed, shooting (Y/n) an offended look. "Are you kidding me? He's just a goofy kid."
"Sokka's right," Aang agreed, hanging off Appa's horn in a childish manner.
"Why do boys always think someone has to be the leader? I bet you wouldn't be so bossy if you kissed a girl," Katara poked at her brother's ribs angrily.
"I- I've kissed a girl!" (Y/n) rolled her eyes at her brother's lying tone, not buying the story for a second. "You just haven't... met her."
Katara laughed at her brother's unconvincing tone. "Who? Gran-Gran? I've met her."
"No, besides Gran-Gran. Plus, why does it matter? (Y/n) kissed a boy and nothing changed about her."
(Y/n) let out a loud cough, the tips of her ears turning the same shade of red as her red spider lily earrings.
"Look, my instincts tell me we have a better chance at slipping through foot," Sokka's tone changed to be more official as if he were spelling something out like it was common sense. "And a leader has to trust his instincts."
(Y/n) sighed, grabbing a backpack and filling it full of supplies. After all, there was no arguing when Sokka put his mind to something. (Y/n) chuckled to herself. 'It's a trait that runs in the family.'
