ACT TWO; SCENE SEVENTEEN —
OUR LAST OUTINGTODAY WAS A DAY of many emotions— sadness, gratefulness, as well as pure happiness. For today was the day the Pevensie's were to return back to their home in the City, in Finchley, meaning they shall leave the Kirke residence. The date was currently May 16th 1940, meaning the siblings had been with Dolores for just over a month now (though, including the Narnia experience it was just over fifteen years).
They were unsure of which emotion to land on and stick with, of course they felt sadness, due to having to leave their much beloved friend, Dolores, behind. Edmund was by far the most affected, as was Dolores herself, they couldn't bear the thought of having to separate for months on end.
However, happiness was also there. Happiness in the sense that the Pevensie's were finally going home to their mother— who too had missed them dearly.
The blitz had calmed down, but the war wasn't over entirely. Though, it was now safe enough for families to bring their children back home, which is the exact reason why the siblings were due to leave on this day. Peter, Susan, and Lucy were the most excited— for they couldn't wait to finally get the chance to see their mother, especially after not seeing her since she sent them off on a train, to protect them and keep them safe.
However, Edmund was different, far different. It was no doubt that he wanted to see his family, as well as return home to them, but he wasn't too keen on the idea of leaving Dolores.
After spending so much time with her over the past few years (months) he was distraught at the thought of having to depart from her. Neither one of them knew how long it would be for. Days? Weeks? Months? Years? They had no idea.
The Pevensie's and Dolores had spoke about Narnia many times after their return— sometimes even including Digory Kirke in the conversations as well, as he liked to share his own personal experiences as well. Mrs. Macready on the other hand wasn't too fond of all of that, as she would call it 'nonsense,' and children stories. Despite them being children anyways, with the exemption of Dolores' grandfather of course.
Dolores was feeling a bit melancholic as the Pevensie siblings were getting ready to leave today. She had grown fond of their company during their stay at the Kirke residence. The thought of bidding them farewell and seeing them off brought a sense of sadness to her heart. She couldn't help but reminisce about the laughter, adventures, and shared moments they had experienced together.

Everyone (well the children) were situated in the outside garden area, the place they had been only a month prior to this, just before they had discovered the land of Narnia. How they wished they could go back in time to when they first set foot in that wardrobe, but they all knew that was not possible. After all, nothing can happen in the exact same way twice.
It was quite a peculiar experience for the Pevensie siblings and Dolores to find themselves as children again after spending fifteen years in Narnia as adults. It was undoubtedly a strange, and yet somehow familiar change for all of them.
Although their physical appearances reverted back to their younger selves, their minds and experiences had matured far beyond their years.
Adjusting to their youthful forms while carrying the wisdom and memories of their adult selves had been quite a unique challenge. Despite the oddity of the situation, they continued to embrace it with grace and resilience, cherishing the lessons and growth they had gained during their time in Narnia.
