It was a sunny day in the town of Adventure Bay. The sun rose over the horizon, illuminating the dark sky with an orange glow. As the rays grew, they found their way into a dark blue puphouse, where a German Shepherd slept. As the light flashed in his eyes, he began to stir.

Chase slowly opened his eyes. He turned his face away from the sun as he yawned and stretched. He took a minute to wake up completely. Chase then grabbed his uniform, a dark blue police suit, and put it on. He grabbed his hat with his teeth and flipped it onto his head.

Chase walked out of his puphouse and looked around. The grass sparkled because of last night's rain. The smell of rain and wet grass was still in the air. Chase took a deep breath of the cold morning air and turned to his right. It was time to wake up the others.

The first puphouse was Marshall's, followed by Skye, Rubble, Rocky, and Zuma. Chase pulled out his megaphone. "Time to wake up, pups," he called out. He said it quiet enough not to startle them but loud enough to wake them up. They woke up one by one.

"Can't we have five more minutes?" Rubble asked with his sleep mask still on. "I'm so tired."

"Sure, Rubble," Chase said. "But you'll miss out on breakfast."

Rubble removed his mask and stood up. "On second thought, I'm wide awake." They laughed at the joke.

The pups walked together to the entrance of the Lookout. They passed a couple of empty vehicle lots. Sometimes, Liberty and the Junior Patrollers would visit, as well as the other members of the Paw Patrol (Everest, Tracker, etc.), so Ryder made more slots for their vehicles. But since they were all in their places, the spots were empty.

The pups entered the Lookout, where Ryder was waiting for them. "Good morning, pups," he told them.

"Good morning, Ryder," they said in unison.

"How did you sleep?" Ryder asked.

"We're all well rested and ready for the day ahead," Chase replied. The others nodded in agreement.

"That's good," Ryder said, "Because we have some stuff people requested help on. Chase, you'll be going on a patrol, right?"

"Yes, sir," Chase replied.

"Okay. Jake and Everest wanted some help collecting Bay-berries."

"I can go, Ryder," Marshall said.

"Okay, farmer Al wanted help collecting apples for the upcoming festival."

"I can help with that, Ryder," Zuma said.

"Me, too," Rubble said.

"Okay, and Mr. Porter needs some help with deliveries while his twisted ankle heals,"

"I can help him, Ryder," Skye said.

"Hey, Ryder," Rocky said. "Can we go work on that project we're working on?"

"Uh," Ryder looked through his tablet to be sure he had nothing else scheduled for the day. "I have nothing else planned, so yeah. We can work on it for a bit." Rocky silently cheered.

The others looked at each other. They knew that Rocky and Ryder had a project they were working on together, but they didn't know what it was. All they know is that when the time is right, Ryder and Rocky will reveal it, so they don't push on the subject.

"Well, I guess that's everything we had for the day."

They all got in their vehicle and went in different directions. Unbeknownst to them, a group of their past enemies plotted against them. The Copycat, Harold Humdinger, and his uncle, Mayor Humdinger.

Harold was typing on his computer, moving his thoughts onto a screen. The mayor sat on a chair, feeding his kitten pieces of tuna. The Copycat laid on top of the monitor, bored out of his mind.

"Aren't you supposed to be a genius?" The Copycat asked Harold.

"I am," Harold reacted.

"Then why is it taking so long to make a plan? We need that meteor to upgrade our powers. Ever since those puny pups left Adventure City, they seem more powerful than before."

"Please don't mention that wretched place," The mayor pleaded. "I don't even want to think of it."

Harold rolled his eyes. "Uncle, it's been a year since we've bailed you out of there. You never thanked us for it, but you always complain when we mention Adventure City. The least you could do is keep it to yourself."

The mayor scoffed and crossed his arms. "I'm starting to wonder if it was the right choice," he muttered to the kittens.

"Yes!" Harold exclaimed. "I got the perfect plan."

"Well, do you plan on keeping it a secret or telling us?" The Copycat asked sarcastically.

"Oh, right," Harold said. "If you cause a distraction at, let's say, the mountain, I can grab the meteor and bring it back here. Once I tap into its core, we will have enough power to take over Adventure Bay."

"Or level it," The Copycat muttered to himself. "Okay," he said aloud. "Let's get to it."

"Finally," Mayor Humdinger said as he stood up. "It's time to get my steps in for the day."

"Not this time, mayor," the Copycat exclaimed. "You failed too many times in Adventure Bay and Adventure City. This time, it's just me and Harold."

Harold looked up from his laptop. "Sorry, uncle, but you had your chance."

The mayor looked at them in disbelief. He sat back down on the chair and crossed his arms. "Fine, but let's see how good you two are at working together."

"Let's see how good you two are at working together," the Copycat mocked. "Don't worry, mayor. Today is the day we get our long-needed victory."
