The Copycat and Harold set up and perfected their plan for the rest of the day. As the sun rose on the following day, they were ready.
"We'll be back, uncle," Harold said. "And with the meteor in our possession."
Mayor Humdinger scoffed. "Good luck, you'll need it."
The two villains made their way to their position. Harold went towards Adventure Bay while The Copycat ran up Jake's Mountain.
At the top of the mountain, Skye and Everest were catching up at the cabin. After the Paw Patrol returned from Adventure City the second time, Skye and Everest haven't had a moment to talk. Skye was in the middle of explaining what happened there.
"So, after I told him my backstory, I informed him that I would do anything to get my crystal back," Skye told Everest.
"What did he say?" Everest asked.
"He didn't say anything," Skye replied. "He just listened. That is likely what I appreciated most about that talk. Chase didn't try to change my mind or interrupt me. He just let me open up to him."
"Wow," Everest thought. "I wish I had those kinds of moments with someone. Completely open-hearted and close-talks. Other than you, I mean."
"I know, Everest, and you will," Skye said.
Everest was partially convinced. "So, what happened after that?"
"Well, I . . ." Skye stopped when they heard a large crash from outside. The entire cabin shuddered from the impact.
"What was that?" Everest asked, standing up.
"I don't know, Everest," Skye replied.
Jake came running in from the other room. "Are you two okay?" he asked.
"We're fine, Jake," Everest replied. "Do you know what that was?"
"I wish I did," Jake said, scratching his head. "We better find out what it was. Someone might be in trouble." He ran to the and tried to open it but crashed into it instead. "What in the . . ." He attempted to open it again, but he couldn't. "Something's jamming the door shut."
Skye and Everest looked out the window and saw the problem. "Jake, there's a huge boulder blocking the door."
Jake walked over to them, rubbing his throbbing nose. He peeked through the window and noticed that she was right. "How did that get there?"
"Maybe it rolled?" Everest asked.
Jake shook his head. "If it rolled onto the porch and against the door, it should've had enough momentum to crash through the wall. Someone must've put it there." He tried to open the window but the frame was melted shut. "Someone also melted the window frame. I can't open it."
"But who?" Skye asked.
Everest noticed a blue streak run by. "There," she said. "I just saw something blue pass by extremely fast."
"Was it Chase with his super-speed?" Jake asked.
"Chase would never lock us up in here," Skye retorted. "It must've been . . ."
"Me," an orange cat exclaimed as he appeared in front of the window. Jake and the pups jumped back, startled to see The Copycat.
"Copycat," Skye said. "What are you doing here?"
"Oh, right. I'll tell you my plan because that always works out for me," The Copycat said sarcastically. "Don't worry, just stay there. Not that you have much of a choice. You know what? A little bit of extra measures won't hurt anyone, right?"
The Copycat ran around the cabin, creating a neon-green shield around it. He stopped in front of the pups and Jake but on the other side of the barrier. "NOW you can just stay there." He snickered but coughed up a chunk of hair. "Hairball," he stated rhetorically. The Copycat ran out of sight.
"What should we do?" Everest asked.
"I'm going to call Ryder," Jake said. "He and the Mighty Pups can help us."
Ryder was walking out of the garage. He needed some fresh air after working on the secret project. As Ryder watched the pups play, he got a call from his pup pad. "Ryder here," Ryder answered.
"Ryder, we have some major problems," Jake called out.
"What's wrong," Ryder asked.
"The Copycat showed up at the cabin," Skye explained from Jake's shoulder. "He put a huge boulder against the door and surrounded the cabin with a green dome."
"We're trapped," Everest added.
"Okay, hold on," Ryder said. "No job is too big. No pup is too small." He hung up on Jake and extended his pup pad. Ryder pressed the button and said, "Paw Patrol, to the Lookout."
"Ryder needs us," the pups said as they ran to the tower.
Marshall slipped on a tire and crashed into the elevator, causing a dogpile. "Sorry, pups," he said. "Guess I'm all tired out." The pups laughed at the joke.
As the elevator rose, the tower changed its form. It transformed into the Mighty Pups tower, a large yellow column of charged-up energy in the middle, with concrete walls extended on either side.
The pups arrived at the top of the tower and got in their positions. "Mighty Pups, ready for action, Ryder, sir," Chase said. He glanced to his left and noticed that someone was missing. "Uh, except for Skye."
"That's why I called you here, pups," Ryder explained. "The Copycat trapped Skye, Everest, and Jake inside the cabin with a huge boulder pushing against the door, and he melted the windows shut. He also created a green dome around it. For this mission, I'll need Chase. You will find the Copycat and use your detective skills to find what he's up to."
"Mighty Chase is ready to race," Chase announced.
"I'll also need Marshall. You will use your heated paws to destabilize the dome. From there, Rubble can roll into it in wrecking ball form and shatter it. You will also move the boulder out of the way to let Jake and the pups out."
"Ready for a red-hot rescue," Marshall exclaimed.
"Mighty Rubble is ready for trouble," Rubble said.
"What about us, Ryder?" Zuma asked.
"We won't need your help for this mission, Zuma," Ryder said.
"Oh, okay," Zuma said, although he was somewhat sad.
"Alright, Paw Patrol is on a roll," Ryder shouted. He turned on his jetpack and hovered above the floor.
"Can I work on the project while you're gone, Ryder?"
"That's fine, Rocky," Ryder said before he set off.
The Copycat watched from the mountains using binoculars as the Mighty Pups approached him. He couldn't help but smile. "Everything is going to plan."
