Ryder and the pups raced to the Lookout. They knew that if the teleportation device fell into the wrong hands, it could be catastrophic. Before they arrived at the tower, they watched the Mayor Mobile move towards them. The vehicle kept accelerating across the bridge. Ryder and the pups had to move out of the way so they wouldn't crash with it. They watched as it raced off through town.
"Ryder, they must already have it," Chase stated. "What do we do? We don't have our crystals."
"We won't need them," Ryder replied. "Let's drive after them and find a way to stop them." Ryder, Chase, Marshall, Skye, Rocky, Rubble, Zuma, and Everest followed the Mayor Mobile through town.
Harold was installing all the crystals into the machine. With every new crystal, the automaton glowed brighter and hummed louder.
The Mayor Mobile took a hard right turn, knocking The Copycat out of his seat. "Harold, hurry up back there," he yelled as he stood up.
"Almost done," Harold said. He typed into his laptop and checked the energy distribution on the machine. Harold could generate enough power to teleport anything to any corner of the world with the crystal he had left. Harold grabbed the final crystal in his hand and looked at the machine. He thought about how his problems would soon be over.
Outside, the Paw Patrol chased the villains across town. Until now, they haven't left it because anytime they tried to, the Paw Patrol blocked the road, causing the autopilot to veer off-course and take another route.
"We need to stop that vehicle now," Ryder said. "Skye, fly ahead and try to cut off the road."
"You got it, Ryder," Skye said before she flew off.
"Chase, use your net to latch onto the back tire. Rubble, once it begins to slow down, drive ahead of it and help bring it to a full stop."
"On it," Chase and Rubble said.
Chase drove as close as he could to the Mayor Mobile. Once Chase was in the right spot, he called out his net and shot it at the nearest tire. The tire spun slower as the net wrapped around the rotor and drive axles. Noticing that the plan was working, Chase shot another net at the other tire. The vehicle's rear wheel spun with little control.
"Rubble, now," Ryder ordered. Rubble raced in front of the Mayor Mobile. When he was far enough ahead, the bulldog spun his bulldozer around and pushed against the Mayor Mobile.
The large vehicle came to a stop, causing The Copycat and Harold to lose their balance and fall. Harold looked at the teleportation device, now glowing brighter and humming louder than before.
"Something's happening," Harold said. He got up and went to the computer. Warning signs flashed throughout the screen. Harold removed all the warnings and looked at the data presented. "It's drawing too much energy," he said. "It can't contain it."
"Harold and The Copycat," Chase called out from outside using his megaphone. "Come out of the vehicle slowly."
The Copycat fumed with anger. "This can't be over," The Copycat said. He looked at Harold. "Figure something out. If we can't have the machine, they can't either." The cat walked out of the vehicle and surrendered to the Paw Patrol.
"Harold, it's your turn," Chase said. "Exit the vehicle."
Harold had to think of something quick. He figured that if he removed any limitations and restraints, the machine would cause a power outage and fry the mainframe. After clearing the system, Harold walked out of the Mayor Mobile.
After Harold exited the vehicle, Ryder ran into the driver's seat. Ryder grabbed the machine using the mechanical arm and placed it on the road near Harold and The Copycat. When it touched the pavement, the glowing and humming died down.
"Good work, pups," Ryder said. "Another mission accomplished."
Ryder noticed Mayor Humdinger driving up on his kitty carrier. "How did it go?" he asked. Harold and The Copycat looked at him in confusion. Why was he there?
"Luckily, we stopped them before they could use it," Ryder said. "Thank you for warning us, Mayor Humdinger." He reached out his hand to shake the mayor's, but he refused.
"Like I said, I didn't do it for you or your pups," he stated.
"Uncle?" Harold asked. "You ratted us out to the Paw Patrol. How could you?"
"It was for your own good," he replied. "You'll understand when you're older. Now, let's go home."
Harold could barely hold in his anger. One of the only people he trusted turned his back on him. Harold thought his uncle would be proud, but Mayor Humdinger seemed more annoyed than proud. He felt like the only one he had left was The Copycat.
"The Copycat was right," he exclaimed. "You're just holding me back. You always have been."
"The Copycat?" the mayor exclaimed. "That cat has only been using you this entire time."
"That's not true." The Copycat protested. "We're partners."
"Until you don't need him anymore. Then you'll throw him off to the side. Harold, you both did it to me. He'll do it to you."
"Liar!" Harold yelled. He usually wasn't this aggressive, but he couldn't help it. He was angry at him. Harold, out of frustration, smacked the laptop. In doing so, he reactivated the machine. He realized what he did. "Uh oh."
The machine roared and glowed brightly. A portal appeared inside the opening. Inside, it was like looking into the universe. Stars and streaks of light, much like the Northern Lights but red and purple, filled the area. White tunnel-like funnels snaked across the scene. They thought it looked like something out of a movie, but they couldn't admire it for too long.
The temperature immediately dropped in their area. Leaves and small twigs began flying into the portal. Little by little, they felt the pull intensifying.
"It's pulling stuff in," Ryder said. He looked down and felt his feet dragged forward. The force of the machine was pulling them in. "Everyone, grab onto something!"
The pups, Ryder, and the mayor held onto the vehicles. Harold and The Copycat had nothing to grab since they were the closest to the machine. The power of the machine swept them off their feet and pulled them into the portal as they screamed.
"Harold!" Mayor Humdinger yelled. "NO!!"
