Johnny and Malcom drove over about five. Johnny looked scrappy, again. He was painting. He was working on an exhibit and he was tired as he was in Hungary for a few weeks. Now, he was back. "I have a few things I need to go over with you," she said. "Business things?" He asked. She said, "Well sort of." He wondered what was up. A deranged fan he would have to be careful of? He had a few of those and he couldn't go to London because of them. One even made very suggestive photos and put him in them. He wasn't looking forward to it.He had his "I Am Just A Ray Of Fucking Sunshine" tee shirt and torn jeans. He had a hat on and he jingled when he walked. Gina smiled at him.
"Hello," he said with deeply stoned eyes.
"Hi Johnny! Have a seat! How are you today?"
"Well rested. Things are well. How are you?"
"We need to talk to you about something?" Malcom knew.
"And? WHo is it now? Who said what?"
"I got a letter the other day, from a fan."
"And?"
"I NEVER do this and I haven't, but I want you to meet her." She handed him a photo. She was a girl with very high cheekbones, beautiful eyes, beautiful hair, and lots of curves. She wasn't obese and carried her weight well. She looked a lot like Kate, but he saw Vanessa and a bit of Lily Rose in there."
"Is she a model or something?"
"Nope. Just a file clerk for Washington County, Indiana. She is a big fan and I don't think she would be crazy. Her best friend wrote the letter. She would never did that. I think you two would hit it off. She's in her early fifties, so no babies, but she is beautiful."
"Captivating. Okay, I will be in the states to see family in November. How about we arrange something. Can I have the pictures?"
"Sure."
"She's not married."
"Nope. So I have a green light?"
"You do."
He didn't want to sound crazy, but this was the girl he kept seeing. He put the pictures in his coat. They talked about the weather. It was dreary. This gave him some brightness. Genny was at home and she texted, "It's a go. Friday in Owensboro, 1 pm at his aunt's house." Genny texted back, "Thanks."
It was a Satruday. It was after the election and Genny said, "Let's do lunch., I know the cutest place on Wells Avenue."
"I"m game."
"How about we meet at Three Little Birds and then go shopping."
"Cool! I love the vintage store."
"I'm game. Let me call DeeDee. See you at one."
She told DeeDee the news. They want us to meet at a family members house."
"That is so cool. She is going to die."
"We are leaving on Thanksgiving night and you are riding up front. She'll have no clue. I told them that."
"So, at four we leave."
"Yep. We'll stay with the relative until Sunday."
"Do you think they will hit it off?"
"I have an odd feeling."
Karen got stressed. She had her holey jeans and Johnny Depp tee shirt. She wore a long sleeved shirt with hearts under it. "She looks so cute," Genny told DeeDee. "Look at you, looking all cute." She thanked them and played it off. She was a beautiful woman. Dammit, why didn't she see it.
"We won't be going to Chicago this year," Genny told them.
"Why?" Karen whined. She loved her girls and Thanksgiving was just a lecture for her. SHe would see Kendall for an hour and then she would go to her dad's and boyfriend's family. She liked Dan's family a lot better than her family. She would be lectured on why she wasn't married and that it was because she was overweight and had a bad job.
"We are going to St. Louis and staying with my family. I think that would be more fun."
"Yeah," Karen said.
"We have to leave at four on Thanksgiving."
"I will have to make sure the dishes are washed."
"YOur mom really gets the work out of you."
"Sure does."
She looked disappointed. She meant for her to be. When she got home, she texted Gina and said, "She suspects nothing." Johnny was at his home, reading. Once in a while he'd stop and look at her pictures. He wondered what she looked like under that green teddy and hose. He was going to get to know her. He was going to be a gentleman.
