Johnny Settles Down

Memorial Day Weekend

      "I won't be at the party,". Karen told Genny.
"Are you mad at me?"
"No. I am going to see Johnny. This has been the longest we have been apart."
"Ah. I thought you were upset."
"I can't wait to see him."
"I bet."
"I am so thankful Kendall went and talked to him. He was so mean to me when it aired. I wanted to die."
"I am glad you didn't. I was so hurt you were mad at me."
"I am so sorry for that."
"I know."
"He loves you so much. He called me when he yelled at you. He didn't mean it. He was crying."
"I know."
"I do love going to lunch and hanging out with you. Work is beginning to suck. Kim wants us paper free. That means we'll be gone."

They talked and Johnny was texting her. She texted back. "I was talking to Genny." He said, "Good."   He was pleased they were friends and this event was a learning curve.  It was mostly to not trust others, and he was glad it never escalated into any physical action on his part with her, but he was turned in by her. That would have destroyed his girl.  He called Alice.   "I want to propose in front of Dracula's Castle.  I want you there."  Alice asked if she was ready to go on tour with them.  Johnny said"yes".   Johnny was ready.  

    She packed her clothes for a week and then THIS time she was taking her dog and cat.  Sean was ready for it.  Sean liked this new calm with Johnny. 

     "I had to clear the dog and cat.   It's done," Sean told her. 
"Thank you, and I am coming with her for a few days, maybe a week.  I am not due anywhere until the 10th of June and then in July is the tour.   She won't know what hit her."
"I am glad you could work things out with her."
"I am glad I did.  She was going to kill herself.  She had the pills already to go one night when she came home from work," he said almost crying.  "I really upset her."
"I know." Sean looked sad.
"That guy had designs in her even in high school.   She showed me team photos from a keepsake book and most of the pictures were of her.  She filled out a suit well. I would have loved to have been her first. She reminds me, personality wise, of Nonie."

     Sean agreed.  He shook Johnny's hand and said he would take good care of her and bring her to him.  He left four the airport.  He flew into Chicago, picked up a SUV and the. Drove to his girl's house.  She had a few friends over for supper and she invited him to eat with them.  It was Genny and DeeDee.  They were nice.  They were having pizza and it was actually really good.  He told them a few stories about Johnny and traveling with him and how he loved it.  "He's great to work for," he said.  He was.  Sean was grateful.   Johnny even called to see if he got there okay.   He took a picture of his girl for him.  "Even in a flannel and stretch pants, she's beautiful," he texted back.  Sean agreed. 

    The ladies left early, and the two of them turned in.  Going to the airport with a dog and cat was going to be fun, but Johnny wanted them there with him. They fell asleep but it was a short night. Soon they were on the way to O'Haire and they flew off without a problem. The dogs behaved and Sean and Karen made small talk on the way there, He was glad Johnny was back with her. Starling had Johnny at the airport. He was pacing. "I just can't wait to see her," he'd said. "I think the world needs to know I have a girl." He smiled. He even said in an interview, "Someone took advantage of a very intimate moment between me and my girlfriend." Steve hard interviewed him for years aid, "Girlfriend?" Johnny paused and said, "Yes. Girlfriend."

The cat rode well in her carrier but the dog was jumpy and she liked Johnny. Johnny ran out to greet them, help with her bags and he helped with her. He was going to make sure she was known as his girl. As soon as the got into the suv to go home, he kissed her and held her. "I have missed you so, so much. We are in for some fun this week." He smiled. "In and out of the bedroom. And my pool, you can swim naked without any fear." She smiled. He kissed the side of her head. "You know, he died?" He said, "I know, baby. He will never hurt you." Johnny said, "I looked at those pictures and wish I was your first." He kissed her.

When he got to his place, he let the animals out and then he asked to be alone with Karen, he made love to her for at least three hours. Then he had carryin delivered. It was a great evening, between sessions, he asked her how she felt about moving here and she said she felt fine. "By fall, I want you here with me. Do you want to?" She said, "yes." She meant it.
