It was Thanksgiving week a short week. Nicole had already brought in cupcakes. Red velvet ones and even though she was trying, Karen enjoyed them. She had done well. She was 220 on Saturday. She had gone on a diet in the spring. She was now a size sixteen and she was able to walk a mile without hurting. Her belly was a lot smaller. She ate a lot of her pain. Thanksgiving week was a short week, but Karen logged her food like a good girl. She was excited to go shopping. "I don't know why St. Louis. I kind of find it a bit boring." Genny reassured her it would be a trip to remember. She was in constant contact with Gina. "We plan on leaving at four, and then we will let you know when we are close so he is ready. How does he feel about this?" She asked her one day. Gina replied, "Very, very nervous." Genny smiled and said, "She doesn't have a clue. Thinks we are going to St. Louis."
Their Holiday Tradition was to see the lighting downtown and they loved it. They had their Hamburgers from Famous and then they went home. Genny told DeeDee as Karen got into her BMW, "Her life is never going to be the same." They did call and tell Kendall what was going on and she said, "How wonderful. You are her true friend." She was happy for her mom. Her mom deserved it after all she went through. She loved her mother. However, that house she lived in on Forrest Drive brought back sad memories. Her home on Forrest was modest, too big for her, but she loved it.
As she drove home, Johnny touched down in an airport on his private jet. "I haven't dated a woman for a long time, I am not sure what to tell her," he told Sean. He said, "Just be you." He smiled. Gina said she was nervous, too. "Maybe we will hit it off," he said. "I am in motherfucking love. I have only got that way with Nonie and Vanessa. Amber? She just was ambitious." She stopped by the store and got her famous salad. A few men checked her out, because she was pretty, she just did not believe it. She went home, let the dog out and put her groceries away. A week from now, things would be so, so different....
She put on her pajamas, tried not to look at her saggy boobs or belly, and went to sleep. Johnny was hugging his family, unaware of how much his life was going to change.
