Cosmic Destruction

It was a warm day in Vale, the sun was high in the sky and there was not a cloud in sight. All sorts of people were wandering around, exploring the city as well as helping set up decorations for the World Renowned Vytal Festival. The streets were all in a cheerful mood except for one stall in the marketplace.

The marketplace was bustling like usual as all different people looked at the various stalls; huntsmen looked at weaponsmiths, older folk looked at the furniture and book section and kids looked at the toy section as well as the dust section in awe however there was one dust stand that had no traction whatsoever. An elderly man with grey hair only remaining around the sides of his head sat with a sad look om his face, his eyes were closed like usual, and his bushy eyebrows were furrowed as no one dared approach his stand. The Shopkeep was an unlucky man, his dust store (From Dusk Til Dawn) was the constant victim of theft from Roman Torchwick and all sorts of no-gooders; In fact the only people that even visited his store anymore was his old regulars who were unaware of his unlucky streak but even those customer numbers were dwindling. If it wasn't for his partnership with Schnee Dust Co. then he would be out of a store and home by the end of the month. No one dared approach his commodities out of fear they would be there when Roman Torchwick attacked next, in fact if he was in another's shoes he would do the exact same thing so he couldn't stay mad. It was just the bad hand fate gave him. A sigh of sadness left his mouth as he could feel the feeling of giving up slowly well in his body, however just as he was about to pack it in for the day two teenagers approached his stall.

As the Shopkeep looked up he saw a young man and a Rabbit Faunus, with their hands joined together, looking at his wares. The bunny-girl had long brown hair, which matched her ears, and a camera at her waist. She wore some jeans, a white shirt as well as a beige coat that only went down to her waist. This young student was immediately recognizable as part of Beacon Academies number one team, Velvet Scarletina of Team CVFY. A wide smile grew on her face as she flicked through the book, which showed what type of dust the Shopkeep sold, and found a page that covered hard light dust. "Wow, this stuff is hard to find...Do you have any samples I can check?" The girl asked with a soft South-Menagerian accent.
The Shopkeep eagerly nodded as he got out some Hard Light Dust for the Huntress in training to check. As the Faunus looked closely to the dust to check it out the brown haired, green eyed guy looked at her confused as if he hadn't seen a dust quality check in his life. He had a green jacket on with a white stripe going down his left side which had the number ten in it, underneath his jacket was a black shirt and he also sported some jeans, though unlike Velvet who wore blue jeans, his jeans were black. The man had a weird green gauntlet on his right wrist and even though the Shopkeep hadn't seen anything like it before the symbol on the device was very familiar to him. Months ago a creature made of a diamond like substance appeared at the sight of his store getting robbed and that creature helped defeat the goons who was robbing him. Since then multiple sights of creatures sporting this symbol has been reported and it was clear to the Shopkeep this was the man who helped him those months ago. "So...how do you even check the quality of dust?" The man asked with a Patch like accent.
"It's kind of complicated Ben, there is a ton of things you have to look out for...however this dust is in great shape. How much for five crystals?" Velvet Scarletina asked as the Shopkeep shook his head.
"Take these as a thank you." The Shopkeep smiled as he made eye contact with Ben before retrieving five crystals.
"Are you sure, I am happy to pay for it?" Velvet softly asked as the Shopkeep nodded.
"I'm sure, make Vale proud." The old man smiled as the two teens gave a soft smile before walking away.

The two teens decided to sit down on a bench as they looked lovingly at each other's eyes before Velvet broke the eye contact to carefully put her dust into her camera, loading it with enough dust for until the end of the Vytal Tournament. Whilst Velvet was loading her camera Ben's eyes drifted up from her camera to Velvets face, as he looked at her smile a blush formed on his face making him turn away from embarrassment. Twenty feet away the two teens were being watched by three more; Coco, Fox and Yatsuhashi watched over the date with keen smiles on their faces as they did. "If this was any sweeter, I'd get diabetes." Fox joked as Coco elbowed her teammate.
"Shhh, I'm trying to listen." Coco glared.
"Listen to what? Velvet is focusing on her camera and Ben is focusing on Velvet, there is nothing being said." Fox sighed.
"Yeah but when they do talk, I don't want to miss a single beat." Coco grinned.

As Velvet finished loading her camera, she looked up to see Ben looking away from her awkwardly. A small smile formed on her face as she leaned in and noticed the blush on her boyfriend's face. Without hesitation Velvet went to lean in and kiss Bens cheek however the silence the two had was swiftly interrupted by a sci-fi ringtone coming from Ben's scroll. The wielder of the Ultimatrix fished his scroll out of his pocket and saw an unknown number was trying to contact Ben. Not sure if phishing scams were existent in Remnant Ben answered it. "Uhh...hello?" Ben slowly asked.
On the other side of the phone a loud rumbling noise was filling the area in an echoey chamber. The sound of screeching metal was going off everywhere as a familiar voice started speaking. "Torchwick is bringing Grimm to Vale, get to the City Centre fast!" Kevin Leven yelled down the microphone as Ben's eyes widened.
"Kevin? What are you-"
"Team RWBY will meet you by the crash site, get ready to fight!" Kevin yelled again as gun shots went off and a...dog barked before a loud crashing sound was heard.
"Don't have to tell me twice, Velvet get someone to ring the evacuation alarm!" Ben exclaimed as Velvet nodded.
"Got it Ben!" Velvet nodded before running away.
"Your short friend from the docks and her team will be there shortly." Kevin said before he hung up the phone and I popped up the panel for the Ultimatrix.
"Who do I use, Swampfire will help more people but if Grimm are about to invade...I'll go with Echo Echo!" I grinned as I slammed my palm onto the watch and started growing in size, fur started forming over my body as claws sprouted out of my knuckles.
"Rath? Let me tell you something Ultimatrix, this is not the time for you to be malfun-" Before I could finish my rant a huge explosion went off in the middle of the area.
Looking over I see Team RWBY and Kevin sitting in an Ice shield which slowly faded away, the alarm started blaring as rubble was everywhere. I went to jump over to them but before I could out of the huge hole the train had caused Grimm started pouring into the city.

"Is everyone alright?" Ruby asked as a huge shadow loomed over them, a death stalker thrust its stinger down towards the team leader however before it could hit her Rath appeared and grabbed the stinger.
"Let me tell you something Creature of Grimm, Rath will not let you leave with your life!" Rath roared as he ripped off the stinger.
"Ben! What're you doing here?" Ruby asked, shocked.
"Me and Velvet were on a date, focus on the Grimm for now." Rath said as he kicked away a Beowolf that charged at Team RWBY.
"Ha! You owe me 20 Lien, Weiss." Yang laughed as Weiss nodded.
"I-I guess I do, but lets do as Ben suggested. Let's clear out some Grimm!" Weiss called as she loaded dust into her weapon and charged at the grimm as Rath noticed Roman Torchwick trying to sneak away.
"Not today..." Rath growled as he pounced into the air and landed right in front of Roman Torchwick.
"Oh great, now I have to deal with you." Roman growled.
"Let me tell you something Roman Torchwick, You interrupted Raths date and for that you're in for a world of hurt! Because Rath's name is Rath, it's gonna be a bloodbath and no one is gonna miss you-" Before Rath could finish his wrestling catchphrase he was shot in the face, though it didn't do anything "You didn't let Rath finish!" Rath roared as he grabbed the criminal by his legs and slammed him into the ground repeatedly, doing this as many times as needed to knock away his aura and knock the criminal out.
"Ben, what are you doing?" Glynda asked as she approached and used her semblance to fix the floor that Rath had just bashed up.
"Rath is getting revenge on Roman ruining Raths date, hold onto this-" Rath threw Roman to Glynda who stepped to the side letting the unconscious Roman Torchwick hit the floor with a thud as a loud roar pierced the sky as a giant nevermore approached Vale.
"That...That's ten times bigger then any recorded Nevermore-" Glynda said shocked as Rath turned back into Ben.
"Let me deal with this!" Ben said as he highlighted a familiar alien that he hadn't used for 6 years and slammed down his hand on the watch.

Suddenly Ben started growing as his skin started to change and his eyes changed shapes. A horn sprouted from his head as a spike sprouted from his elbows. "Way Big!" Way Big cried as everyone looked in shock at the giant alien.
"I-Is that Ben?" Coco asked.
"Ben told me about this alien, it's one of his strongest aliens...when did he gain access to it again?" Velvet asked.
"Woah...Ben is so cool!" Neptune fangirled.
"Yeah, he didn't do this over at the docks..." Sun said in shock.
"Take this Nevermore...COSMIC DESTRUCTION!" Way Big roared as he crossed his arms and a large beam of cosmic energy left his hands and evaporated the Nevermore.
"Go Ben!" Ruby grinned as Kevin looked up and smirked.
"Heh, you certainly don't disappoint Tennyson." Kevin said to himself as Way Big started stomping on Grimm and when they had been eradicated he shrunk back down.

As Ben shook his head, feeling a wave of tiredness, he was approached by Velvet and Kevin. "Tennyson, any update on getting us home?" Kevin asked.
"Yeah, after the Vytal Tournament we should be able to open a gateway to our universe." Ben smiled as Velvet hugged her boyfriend.
"You were very cool Ben." Velvet smiled as Ben smiled back.
"Thanks Velv..." Ben smiled as he pecked Velvets cheek.
"I'll be off then." Kevin said as he walked past Roman, who was being cuffed by Ironwood, and punched his gut before leaving.
"I know you guys said you were enemies...but that looked more like siblings talking." Velvet giggled.
"Yeah, I get ya," Ben smiled "Well...I know most places are closed but want to continue the date?" Ben asked as Velvet nodded.
"it would be my pleasure...my hero." Velvet whispered the last part as Ben blushed.
"Well, let's do this." Ben smiled as the two walked into Vale, holding hands like they first entered.
