Nate

After the show was over we had another two days on the road. I got back and took a shower changing into black sweats and a black band t shirt. I got out and went to my bed to continue writing the song for Sterling.

I hummed the tune as i wrote more lyrics down. I figured out the song title before anything 'green eyes don't lie'.

It was hard to leave real emotion out of it, but i eventually decided that authenticity would be the thing that sold the song so i caved in writing real things i've learned about her and the emotions i feel.

After working for about an hour i saw Sterling walking towards my bed and i flipped the cover over the journal i had been writing in and gave her my attention.

"Whatcha doing?" she asked sitting next to me.

"Just writing, what's up?" i asked looking over at her looking in on her eye contact.

"I was gonna see if you wanted to come watch a new true crime documentary that came out"

"Yeah of course, let's go" i smiled and got up following her.

We went into her room and she pressed play on the documentary she already had started up. I sat on her bed next to her while she laid down and watched the show.

We watched the first two episodes which were so long that it was already two in the morning. She paused it at the start of the third episode and turned her attention towards me.

"Hey actually i wanted to ask you about something" she spoke in a raspy voice which indicated she was getting extra tired.

"Yeah what's that?" i asked looking over at her.

"I saw something about a girl named Bella you used to date and a lot of these tweets keep relating us. Do you know what that's about?" she asked curiously.

"Oh" i spoke, but barely. That really threw me off guard.

I took a deep breath before continuing. "Yeah Bella was my girlfriend for a couple of months that the public knows about. We met at a coffee shop i frequently went to and we started dating a year after i got famous for our band. The press hated her because they didn't know her. She was a 'nobody' in the presses eyes and there for it had to break things off with her entirely because it gave our band a 'bad imagine' and 'bad press' as i was told." i explained the best i could with leaving out how awful Emma and the guys were to her because of it. She hates all of our guts now.

"Where's she now?" she asked.

"Off the grid. She got a lot of hate, death threats, you name it, it happened. I haven't seen her since we broke up two years ago and haven't talked to her since"

"Oh, i'm sorry Nate that sounds like a really shitty situation" she frowned.

"It's okay, i'm over it now. Fame is just a very superficial thing and everyone assumes they know exactly what's right for you because everyone thinks they know you and they don't. I highly recommend to not read anything about yourself, no matter how many good comments there are the bad ones are really bad and they will get you down." i suggested because i didn't want her to get hurt the same way Bella did.

"I'll try my best to stay off socials" she said with a small smile.

"Good" i smiled back. "Get some rest, i'll see you in the morning and we can finish our show tomorrow okay?" i offered.

"Yeah that sounds good, goodnight rockstar" she smiled a bit her sentence slowly faded into a mumble as she drifted off.

"Goodnight Belmore" i whispered looking at her a few moments after before getting up. i pulled the covers over her and tucked her in shutting off the tv and off the light before leaving and returning to my song that i worked on for another hour before getting some rest myself.
